<p>The bad, the ugly and the good!&nbsp;</p>
<p>The overnight downpours and morning drizzle put an end to our painting plans. However, it didn’t stop our volunteers from getting out to litter pick 10 bags of litter from the streets&nbsp;</p>
<p>The prep on the railings along the footpath at the top of the Rock began with a meticulous scraping of old paint.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Students Cian and Emma made a start on tackling the ‘vertical litter’ found on our poles, information boards and parking meters.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Ursula &amp; Ray swept foliage from Westview.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The spring bulbs we planted in Autumn have begun to bloom.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Jim has done a super job on the railings at the Promenade steps and Navy Pier.&nbsp;</p>
<p>All topped off with coffee in the Promenade. Thanks Truly Scrumptious&nbsp;</p>

<p>Abbeyfeale Rugby Club 18s were the opposition on Saturday at the Paddock, and ran out 31-21 victors. Well done lads, and best of luck in the rest of your season. Pirates will pick themselves up and regroup,  preparing for the final pool game next week</p>

<p>Another positive Ramblers AGM on Friday night, with the club turning an increased profit in the 2021 financial year&nbsp;</p>

<p>We would like to welcome our new three board members Alan Bardsley, Brian Fitzgerald and David Donovan.</p>
<p>We thank the outgoing board members Shane Kavanagh, John McCarthy and Micheál Fitzgerald for all their efforts&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The club will be launching a large volunteer recruitment drive in the coming days. We have huge plans for Cobh Ramblers as we continue to grow but we simply need more people involved across all areas of the organisation. Be part of the journey</p>

<p>Our U14 Boys Gaelic Football squad had their first outing of the year against Midleton Community College.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our lads started off strong with an early goal, a superb team effort finished off by Roan.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Midleton settled into the game soon after and punished us on the scoreboard. The margin should have been more, only for our player of the match Pádraig who pulled off numerous saves to keep us in the game.</p>
<p>We continued to battle with a very strong Midelton side and some notable performances from Sam, Cillian and Luca in the second half.&nbsp;</p>
<p>With more than half the panel still u13, we continue to build for the next match.</p>
<p>Well done to all who travelled,  everyone got some game time.</p>

<p>Hard fought match on a very heavy pitch at the landing field Ballincollig. With a depleted squad the girls did well to come from behind twice in normal time.&nbsp;</p>
<p>A fortunate OG in extra time against the run of play seen Ballincollig come out winners.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Good performances on the day: Zoe Moran, Sophie O'Donovan, Àine Leahy.</p>

<p>A massive performance by all the girls saw our U15B girls team progress to the last 8 of the Una Moore Cup. They should all be really proud. Mallow and Springfield put on a great performance. Two really well-matched sides in the first half. Mallow scored against the run of play and took the lead into halftime.</p>
<p>Springfield Ramblers created numerous chances with great play down both wings and some excellent crossing. Springfield Ramblers drew level in the second half again with some great play down the wings and a well-taken finish by Zoe Tsebedu. Both Mallow and Springfield defended superbly well as a team and at full time 1-1 seemed a fair result. Extra-Time saw Springfield Ramblers get off to the quickest possible start with a goal from Sonia Balanzin within the first 60 seconds.</p>
<p>Springfield defended their lead unbelievably well and took the lead into the second half of extra time.  Springfield kept pushing Mallow and eventually, Sonia Balanzin got the third and final goal of the game! Springfield Ramblers U15b through to the quarter-finals!!&nbsp;</p>
<p>All 17 players we amazing. Players to watch: Robyn O'Sullivan, Leah Casey, Gwyn Murphy &amp; Zoe Tsebedu&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
