<p>Cobh Basketball Club U14's girls continued their great start to the season on Thursday night with a comfortable victory against a spirited Brunell team at Parochial Hall.  Under the leadership of coaches Jimmy Quinlan &amp; Audrey Walsh they are unbeaten heading in to the Christmas break. A very promising group of players that have a lot to look forward to in 2022.</p>

<h3>A brilliant performance and win from the U17 Girls in their 1st Division match on Sunday - home to top of the table Douglas Hall.</h3>
<p>Final score 3 - 2 to Springfield Ramblers  Played in very challenging conditions, Springfield faced into the strong wind and mist and attempted to move the ball well on the deck throughout the half. Douglas opened the scoring midway through the half. But shortly before half time Julia Moreno Fallada weaved her way through a very dogged Douglas defence to  slide one past the advancing goalkeeper and level the tie. Deep in to stoppage time Douglas struck for a second goal. The scene was set of an absorbing and physical second half, as end to end attacking and excellent combination play produced a no. of chances with both defences performing superbly. Aine Griffen pounced for an equaliser midway through the second half and Springfield went in search of a winner.  Sheer determination drove the girls on, with great commitment evident from both sides. Just when it looked like ending in stalemate, another mazy run from Isobel O'Leary resulted in another free wide on the right of the Hall box with time up. Rosie Speakman stepped up to curled in an unstoppable finish from 25 yards to give the girls a brilliantly earned win. All 14 players who played on the day were outstanding but along with the goalscorers Captain Rebecca Meade, left back Amy Meacle and Charley Conway Roche got through a huge amount of work.</p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);"><strong>Sunday morning saw our U10 boys travel to Churchvilla for a challenge game. Despite the conditions, some lovely football was played by both teams and a good reminder for the lads that not every game will be played on perfect pitches.</strong></span></p>

Great battling and plenty of good football from our boys. 3-0 in the end to Lakewood, we were unlucky not to get a goal or two.  Best on the day were David Relihan, Jakub Wolny and Adam Barrett Wallace.</strong></span></h3>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);"><strong>Cobh Ramblers are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Cork City for the transfer of striker Beineón O’Brien Whitmarsh to the club "Obviously it's going to a big year for the club, being the centenary. I spoke to Darren and Conor and just thought it was the right fit for me. I'm looking forward to getting back into it and hitting the ground running in the new season. I was here a few years back and again from speaking to Darren it's become a much more professional outfit. You see that with the new sponsors and the club is definitely going in the right direction. Hopefully I can keep it going that way."</strong></span></p>
