Overcoming the various obstacles presented by the global pandemic has not made the challenge of marathon running any easier.
Despite the restrictive conditions around international travel, local athlete Trevor Cummins has been making good use of his passport while ramping up preparations for September 26th when he lines up in the 47th edition of the world-renowned Berlin Marathon.&nbsp;
A period of high altitude training in St Moritz, Switzerland during August provided the Ballymore Cobh AC man with the ideal platform to knock more than two minutes off his previous best when running strongly in London at last month’s Vitality Big Half.
Doubling up in distance to 42km should only see further improvement from Trevor whose current marathon best stands at 2:38:23
“I’ve been really fortunate that things have gone very much to plan over the last few months and I’m heading to Berlin with a level of fitness and preparation that I have a huge amount of belief in me.
I’m very grateful to a number of local businesses who have supported my journey so far and would like to thank them for their backing.”
