<h2>Cobh's Timmy Wilk selected on minor hurling team of the year</h2>
Congratulations to Timmy Wilk who at the tender age of 16, has been selected among the 15 best minor players in the country. Timmy will be eligible for minor again next year. It's a great honour for Timmy, for his club Cobh, his present school Midleton CBS, his primary school Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh Rushbrooke, and of course his parents and brother.&nbsp;&nbsp;
While a pupil in Rushbrooke he showed tremendous athletic ability under the tutelage of Fr Liam Kelleher, which led to him winning Munster and All-Ireland medals competing with Ballymore-Cobh AC. He also won a Community Games National medal on the Cobh relay team. After watching him lead his team to victory in the "Mrs Casey Cup" at the school, Fr Liam predicted he would be the first Polish boy on a Cork hurling team. What an impact he has made starting and starring in all the games, and helping Cork to their first All-Ireland minor title in 20 years. Hopefully, he can go on to help Cork bring back the McCarthy Cup.
<h2>Cork players dominated the selection taking 10 of the 15 spots</h2>
All-Ireland champions Cork have dominated the Electric Ireland Minor Hurling Team of the Year with the Rebels supplying two-thirds of the line-up. All-Ireland finalists and Galway and Leinster champions, Kilkenny, both have two players represented while Waterford and Wexford each have one representative on this year’s team.
Jack Leahy got the Player of the Year award. The Dungourney attacker, who scored four goals in the campaign, was one of nine Cork players selected by the panel of experts.
