<h3><strong>Bishop William Crean on Saturday addressed the huge gathering and blessed the magnificent astra turf facility masterminded by Cobh4Football. Stephen Ireland cut the ribbon to official open the magnificent facility. The group deserves great credit for their magnificent vision. It was very much appreciated that that the bishop was invited. Again great credit to all and to Stephen Ireland for making the dream possible. I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 hours I spent at the venue on Saturday, watching the young and old make great use of the amazing facility. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner at the Raddison Little Island that night. I was sitting at the table with old friends the Kelly brothers from Ballydesmond contractors for the facility both their daughters played with the Cork Ladies football team. Shauna still plays. Norita started with me under 14 in 1999 when I was manager of the team and she won under 14, 16, and Minor All-Ireland's with me before going on to a glittering career winning many Senior All-Ireland's. So  we recalled many happy times. Rob Heffernan was another I was delighted to meet two of his children play with Cork City and Ireland and hopefully as the  younger two whom I had the privilege of baptism will reach  reach those lofty heights when their time comes Again a magnificent day and  night. Much remains to be done to pay for the project and provide an adequate club house with changing facilities to cater for the growing number committed to the 'Beautiful Game'on the Great Island.</strong></h3>
