<p>Our club chairperson, Cathy Duggan, was delighted to receive a new set of basketball gear on behalf of the club which was sponsored by Vertel. <br><br>Vertel, based in Carrigtwohill Co Cork, is made up of two highly experienced telecom professionals with over 45 years combined experience in the Telecoms sector. Brothers Adrianus and Jan Verwey have a vast knowledge of the telecoms industry.<br><br>The picture shows Adrianus Verwey and Caroline Verwey presenting the gear to Cathy. Harry is doing a fantastic job in modelling the new set. The new set will be worn by our U9, 10 and 11 teams.</p>
<p>The club is very grateful to Adrianus, Jan and VERTEL for their generous sponsorship and we are looking forward to seeing the new gear on the basketball courts in the coming weeks. Thanks also to Colman Walsh in REDBEAR for designing and supplying such a lovely set of gear.</p>

<p>GARDENING AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AT BSRAC! 👩‍🌾<br><br>Our pupils have been growing green fingers with the reintroduction of our after school gardening club this week! 🌹<br><br>With the kind support of our fabulous Parent's Association and staff, the children engaged in getting beds ready for planting for the new year! 🌼<br><br>Many thanks to @cobh_tidy_towns for their amazing donation of 45 pairs of gardening gloves and a selection of spring bulbs! This is an amazing support for our school garden and we are massively appreciative! ♥️<br>We are so looking forward to the new year and the fabulous facility that our garden will prove to be for our entire school community! 🌟</p>

<p>MINI SCIENTISTS IN RANG Á CEATHAIR! <br><br>Ms. O'Gorman's rang a ceathair were delighted to welcome Joshua from @intelireland headquarters to judge their Intel Mini Scientific science project submissions! 🧪<br><br>The children had a fantastic day and received a selection of goodies courtesy of Intel! 🛍️<br><br>They were also delighted to be put forward to the national final of this prestigious competition for STEM and are really looking forward to attending the grand finale! 👏<br><br>Well done to all of our super scientists! 🌟<br></p>

<p>The seniors advanced to the 3rd round of the Munster Cup with an extra-time win over Lakewood Athletic on the Stephen Ireland. Lakewood took the lead after 32 minutes but Ciarán Griffin equalised with a glancing header five minutes later. Wanderers took the lead eight minutes into the 2nd half when Evan O' Leary released Griffin down the right and his low cross was finished by Tom Noonan who nipped in front of the defender. Lakewood forced an extra 20 minutes play with an equaliser of their own on 81 minutes. Wanderers grabbed the winner two minutes into the second half of extra time when a free was deflected before rebounding off the keeper into the path of Stuart O' Rourke who made no mistake with the finish. Excellent performances from Dave Brennan and Kevin Foster O' Reilly at the heart of the home defence tonight, with solid displays from Alex Lynch and Evan O' Leary and a superb cameo by last week's hero, Shane Hallahan who almost scored the winner himself with a brilliant headed that came back off the crossbar. Well done to all involved.</p>

<p>The juniors had a welcome win away to UCC Athletic to take a much needed three points. Wanderers fell behind after 5 minutes when they allowed the big UCC number 9 a free header at the far post and he made no mistake giving the home side a one goal lead. Wanderers levelled just before the break when a free on the right by Ben Kelleher was met by Oisin Cronin's head and his effort was poorly dealt with by the keeper allowing the ball to cross the line. Wanderers snatched the winner on 83minutes when Adam Thompson played a superb through ball into the path of Alec Laurent and he clipped the ball over the advancing keeper to the corner of the net. Well done to all involved.</p>

<p>The Christmas Children's Art Competition will be starting in the Cobh National Schools over the next week. The winner of the competition will switch on the Christmas Lights on 2nd December.  We can't wait to see all the fantastic artwork displayed in the Chamber office!</p>
