<p>Continuing the tradition of encouraging and supporting young sports people Coral are again teaming up with Cobh App to recognise the achievements of young and aspiring sports people. When Cobh News magazine was in print form, the monthly sports star award was eagerly looked forward to. A few of the first included  Kate Gardiner who represents Ireland in the Billy Jean King on her first interaction appearance for Ireland in Tennis this week. Kate is a member of Rushbrooke Tennis club and is win the short list for consideration for the next award. Timmy Wilk received the award as a 12 year old for winning National Medals for athletics and he has gone on to win fame on the hurling fields representing Cork at minor level in 2021 playing a starring roll in Cork's All-Ireland win and was named on the team of the year the top 15 in the country. Amy showed her prowess in many sports during her primary school days winning Sciath na Scoil camogie and football  titles for the school Bun Scoil Rinn and Chabhlaigh Rushbrooke, she was a promising high jumper. Now  her major sport I basketball where she has helped her club to becoming one of the best underage outfits in the country and her club Cobh was named the team of the year for basketball in Cork. Her mother Kathy has been on elf the leading light in the progress of basketball not only for Amy but for the entire club, at coaching and administrative level. Amy has been part of the Irish development squad for a few year sand at Easter she went to Wales with the Irish squad to give them International experience and opportunity to stake their claim for a full International vest for under 18 International in Bulgaria and Portugal during the month of July. We congratulate Amy, her family, her club and her School Al's Carrigtwohill with whom she has had wonderful success as well. We wish her well on there forthcoming trips and indeed in her future career</p>

<h3>Chill on the Hill</h3>

<p>Chill on the Hill Youth Cafe is open to teenagers today from 6.30pm to 9pm. (also open at the same times every Monday and Wednesday)  Come along to;  socialise;  listen to music; play pool; play games; have a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits (free wifi).  Chat with the youth workers on any other ideas you may have on the kind of activities you might like to get involved in.
