<p>After a long layoff of nearly 3 years, we are delighted to start back with our Parish Youth Choir in the coming weeks. <br><br>We are holding an initial meeting and practice on WEDNESDAY 19th October at 4pm - 5pm in the Cathedral Sacristy for anyone interested in joining.<br><br>Membership is open to children aged 10 years and upwards. <br><br>You don’t need to be able to read music to join.<br><br>In the meantime, if you want more information please feel free to ask here or else you can contact the Parish Office on 021-4813222.<br><br>We look forward to welcoming back existing members along with new members who are most welcome.</p>

Donegal are horrific. <br><br>Our hearts and prayers are very much with the people of Creeslough, all the affected people and families, and all the emergency services still working at the scene. <br><br>Please keep them all in your prayers today and the days ahead.&nbsp;</p>

They visited Spike Island, and they took part in an historical treasure hunt that saw them discover some of the historic landmarks around our town.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We are thrilled to share the news that our Hilltop Park Student Entrance opened today. <br><br>Habeeb and Jamie were the first two pupils to take advantage of the short cut. <br><br>The entrance is for Coláiste Muire students only. <br><br>It will open at 8.10am every morning and close at 8.50am. It will reopen just before last bell for 15min. <br><br>The objective is to take pressure off Bishop St and it will be especially useful for students who live in Ard Aoibhinn, Coolamber, Ticknock, Hilltop Park, Cluain Ard, Carrig Eoin and the west side of College Manor.</p>

<h3>Our Senior Boys Football Team had their first outing of the season against Kanturk yesterday. After a slow start, we came more into the game. <br><br>After some great work around the middle of the field but Sean O C and Alex F, Luke M found an on-rushing Sean O K who was dragged down in front of goal. <br><br>The penalty was tucked away by Jae. Kanturk worked the ball well into the wind and opened the lead once more but after a long kick out from Brandon, Billy M gathered the ball and after a 60 yard run, he calmly slotted the ball into the Kanturk net. <br><br>Just before half-time we conceded a sloppy goal and went in at the break 7 points down. After the break, Kanturk stretched the margin even more with some slick passing and accurate point taking from play. <br><br>Our lads battler hard but we failed to narrow the margin. <br><br>We live to fight another day with our next outing on October 20th Vs Killorglin CC. <br><br>U12 Rebel Óg Hurling Champions bring the winning Cup to Coláiste Muire🏆</h3>

<p>Rang a Sé went to The Convent Gardens as they undertook an ecological study relating to the hedgerows of Ireland! ☘️<br><br>We explored the many indigenous and international tree types located around the gardens and analysed the leaves and seeds associated with each of them! 🌳<br><br>We also used pooters to investigate the many creatures that inhabit each stage of the hedgerow and found moths, spiders and woodlice! 🪲<br><br>The children discussed, compared and sketched their findings ultimately gaining a greater appreciation for the beauty of our natural surroundings! <br><br>Sár obair gach duine!</p>

<h4>Senior Centenary Cup Semi Final Result: Cobh Wanderers 3-0 Blarney United.<br>Scorers: Kevin Foster O’ Reilly 45+1, Mikey Foley 72, Danny Gibson 90+2.<br>Congratulations to all the management and players with the senior team on reaching the final of the Centenary cup and gaining some payback for the defeat at the hands of Blarney in the Intermediate Cup a few weeks back. In a very even contest throughout the first half, Wanderers made the breakthrough in stoppage time as Kevin Foster O’ Reilly finished a great cross from the right by Cian O’ Connor. Mikey Foley made it 2-0 on 72 minutes when his effort was deflected out of the keepers reach following some excellent approach work by Tom Noonan down the left wing. Danny Gibson put a gloss on the score line in injury time at the end of the game when he fired home a totally unselfish and very accurate pass from Kevin Foster O’ Reilly after he had travelled the length of the pitch with the ball.
