<h2>Today we commemorate the life of Saint Faustina Kowalska.</h2>

<h3>Helena Kowalska was born in Poland in 1905, and she joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, on 1st August 1925. <br><br>She took the name Sister Mary Faustina. Her work as cook, gardener and porter revealed nothing of her rich mystical interior life.<br>During her life she experienced visions of the Lord calling her to promote his Mercy.<br><br>Faustina Kowalska was canonized on 30th April 2000. At the same time the second Sunday of Easter was officially designated as the Sunday of the Divine Mercy.<br><br>St Faustina Kowalska, pray for us 🙏🏻</h3>

<p>It is a huge privilege to be present in Medgugorje  for the feast of St Faustina. There is a wonderful devotion to Saint here. The English mass this morning was full to capacity with many people outside in the beautiful sunshine. The buses brought the pilgrims to the Divine Mercy church about 10 miles away over a beautiful scenic route over the mountains  were  completely booked out and the International mass at the shrine of our lady in Medgugorje will have thousands present for the mass at 6pm followed by Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament for an hour. Maria Vargo with whom i built up a great friendship and who sang at the English mass on Sunday with the voice of an  angel, sang for our group organised by Deirdre and the Divine Mercy office at the mass at 2pm.The mass was followed by the Divine Mercy  Chaplet at 3pm,  the time that is widely designated for this wonderful devotion all over the world. `That devotion is very strong in Cobh and there is a beautiful enlarged picture at the back of St Colman's Cathedral at the old mortuary chapel.</p>

<p>Maria was a one  person choir and is very well known in the USA and Canada. A native of St Louis Missouri and a Hollywood based   actress, singer/songwriter, director and. christian speaker. She most recently starred as St Faustina, in one-woman tour of the USA with over 300 shows. Much of her music can be found in YouTube.</p>

<p>A huge thank you to MIDLETON RFC  and Youghal Rugby Football Club  for hosting our Girls Under 18.5s and Girls Under 14s teams in two friendlies over the weekend. Some fantastic rugby on display from both sides and a very promising future for these young groups of girls. Congratulations to captains over the weekend: Ciara Moynihan (U18), Davina Kramer (U18) and Isabelle Banim (U14), and to try scorers Aoife, Davina, Blanca, Emma (U18) and to Tara, Lilly and Faye (U14). <br><br>This year our U18.5 girls have amalgamated with Dolphin RFC  and our U14 girls with CARRIGALINE R.F.C.  League fixtures kick off on W/E of Saturday 15th October with a double header at home in The Paddocks. Weekly fixtures will be updated on the club weekly schedule and posted on our social media platforms</p>

<p>I have been inundated with these Questions lately so thought I would do this post to help answer</p>
<p>Q1. 🛳 Can you Cruise from Cobh in 2023?&nbsp;</p>
<p>No. There are currently no planned Cruises departing from Cobh. The ships that arrive in to Cobh are mostly on British Isles or Northern Europe itineraries sold in the US/ UK or European markets so not ideal for the Irish market</p>
<p>Q2. 🛳 Can I join a ship elsewhere and disembark in Cobh?</p>
<p>Technically yes ( with permission) but if for example it's a 10 day itinerary and Cobh is the 3rd port you still pay the 10 day price! Sometimes it works out that Cobh could be the 2nd last stop. Again it's mostly British Isles/ Northern Europe itineraries though so wouldn't have a huge appeal.</p>
<p>Q3. 🛳 Are there any no-fly Cruises from Ireland?&nbsp;</p>
<p>Yes. Very little choice from Dublin, Azamara Cruises ( luxury brand) have a few sailings and in May 2023 there is 9 day Dublin - Cobh but again it's an Ireland &amp; UK itinerary</p>
<p>Belfast has more choice with Ambassador Cruises sailing direct in 2023 with various European itineraries.</p>
<p>Q4. 🛳 Can I pay to get on a ship for the day in Cobh just to see it?</p>
<p>No. Ship visits are by special invite only and need passport clearance weeks in advance. Travel agents, Port officials, Family of crew etc are usually the ones who get these invites.</p>
<p>I have been lucky in the past to be able to invite loyal &amp; potential customers, competition winners etc onboard for a tour &amp; lunch and there is never a charge. Hopefully 2023 will see these visits back</p>
<p>This is what I know for now and of course things may change as itineraries get updated. Fingers crossed the future will bring embarkations back to Cobh and you will be the first to hear if they do&nbsp;</p>
