<p>An excellent first quarter saw our Under 13 boys make a great start in their match away to Youghal. Eight points from Aidan Carney and a basket by Barry O’Keeffe saw Cobh take a 10–4 first quarter lead. <br><br>Four different scorers in the second quarter helped Cobh maintain their momentum and a 10–6 quarter kept them in the driving seat at half-time. Baskets from Theo Carney, Sean Kelleher, Alfie Naughnane and Rhys Campbell contributed to the score.<br><br>The second half was a similar picture to the first half with Cobh edging each quarter despite the efforts of a determined Youghal team. The baskets were shared amongst the team with top scorer Aidan Carney doing some of the damage.<br><br>Adam Reilly and Jack Phelan got their names on the score sheet while Max Thomas and Oscar Krol also made good contributions. <p>Junior Division 1 result: Fermoy 2-4 Wanderers.<br>Scorers: Ben Kelleher 25, Oisin Cronin 44, Josh O’ Mahony, Alec Laurent 88.<br>Wanderers recovered from two league defeats with a good win away to Fermoy on Friday evening. Wanderers started well and took the lead with a 25yard left foot strike from Ben Kelleher. Fermoy grabbed an equaliser on 38 minutes as the visitors went to sleep. Oisin Cronin had two efforts disallowed before he gave Wanderers the lead on 44 minutes with a neat finish following some good team build-up play. Josh O’ Mahony extended the lead with a good finish from outside the box after some great build-up play again by Wanderers. Fermoy pulled another one back before sub Alec Laurent made sure of the points when he side-footed a superb cross from Ben Kelleher to the net on 88 minutes. <p>The pupils of BSRAC were reaching for the stars this week as we celebrated Space Week 2022! 🌠<br><br>In a very tight engineering contest, Ivan won a family pass to the Blackrock Castle Observatory which was very kindly sponsored by the organisation for this event! Check out his fantastic hydraulic powered space robot in this post! 🤖<br><br>Flynn was the runner up in this competition using his knowledge of Vex Robotics to build a coding-focused space buggy! He received a voucher for Ellen's Kitchen which was also kindly donated by Ellen for this event! 🏎️<br><br>Well done to all the boys and girls who took part and those who won prizes too! <p>ONLY THREE MINUTES into Munster’s win over the Bulls, 19-year-old Cobh Pirates product Edwin Edogbo produced a turnover that evoked a roar from the Thomond Park faithful that better befit a try.<br><br>Indeed, it seemed that not only were Graham Rowntree’s men on the field energised by Munster’s returning Emerging Ireland contingent, but so too were the 12,000-plus supporters who braved the poor conditions to line the stands in Limerick.<br><br>On today’s Rugby Weekly Extra podcast for The42 members, Bernard Jackman and Ciarán Kennedy joined host Gavan Casey to discuss Munster’s potentially transformative win, as well as Leinster’s impressive victory over Connacht in Galway and Ulster’s barnburning success over the Lions in South Africa.<br><br>All three were especially impressed by the impact made by the southern province’s 19-year-old tighthead lock Edogbo against the Bulls, which led to a wider discussion about Munster’s up-and-comers and whether Rowntree should begin to lean on them more, even for fixtures such as Leinster at the Aviva Stadium this coming weekend.<br><br>After discussing Edogbo’s potential, Kennedy added: “These guys coming in — not just Edogbo, but these young players across the board — added so much. I know they’ve just come back from the Emerging Ireland tour but they just seemed to give the whole team a lift, the whole crowd a lift.</p>
<p>Edwin received his primary school education at BunnScoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh Rushbrooke and during his time there he showed a keen interest in sport. <br></p>
