<p>Congratulations to Rebecca, Natalie, Amy, Saymia and Kayla who are all part of the Sinead Sheppard School of Dance. <br><br>They recently competed in the 5678 Elite Dance Competition, with the group finishing 2nd and Rebecca achieving 1st place in her solo and highest scoring out of the whole competition.</p>

<h3>Great win for the U16 Basketball team against Carrignavar. Carrignavar started strongly but Lucy and Laia got the ball rolling for Cobh, Lucy scoring 8, Laia scoring 7, and Lurdes also chipping in with a basket to lead 17-8 after the first quarter. The team settled in to a good rhythm thereafter and continued to extend the lead in the remaining quarters. The girls defended well and adapted to everything Carrignavar threw at them….fantastic teamwork throughout with every player contributing to a great win. <p>This weekends hectic schedule. Starting to night, with Munster Rugby raising the curtains for our 12s girls against Old Crescent Rugby Football Club in Pairc Uì Chaoimh . Friday night our J2s welcome Clonakilty RFC and on Saturday in the Paddocks the 18.5s boys play Dungarvan Rugby Club followed by the 13s hosting @crosshavenrfc while the 18.5s girls play Tralee RFC in Dolphin RFC . Also on Saturday morning our 12s minis host a blitz. <br>Sunday sees the next round of the Munster Junior league in The Paddocks where we host Fermoy RFC . <br>Pirates would also like to wish Cobh GAA the very best in their upcoming County final this Sunday. A great achievement for the club and town.</p>

<p>After lunch today at the end of our Cloyne Diocese Assembly in Killarney I paid a visit to Ross Castle and the area around it was almost completely flooded as the pictures show.</p>

<p>I would urge  Cobh Tourism, Harbour Chamber and other public bodies  etc to  promote the use of  Xplore local App and Cobh App Facebook page to promote the town and the Great island. The App can be downloaded on Apple or Google. Just type in Xplore Local and you have a choice of selecting 20 towns and choose Cobh. It has over 100 listings and there is no need to be on other social media platforms and its totally free. Thanks to   Cobh Credit Union who contributed €5,000 of the €10,000 to set up all the listings and I contributed the other €5,000. I put at least 2 hours everyday into compiling and updating the news usually more than 10  stories and the record for a day is 28. If you want  to send news or info just email me at liamkelleher44@gmail.com Since the news has been updated every day in a very readable form. All people have to do is email news pictures etc liamkelleher44@gmail.com. I am grateful to all the organisations, clubs, schools etc for allowing me to use their  social media outlets, so much appreciated since i lost the use of Cobh News,  which I was delighted to bring you the news in print form every 2 weeks when i published the magazine. <br><br>After a lot of hard work, there has been a massive improvement in the numbers checking it out. This is so uplifting since I ceased the publication every 2 weeks of Cobh News. Thanks to everyone who has made this possible and tell all your friends about the App. its for everybody on the Graet Island benefit and its an indication of the commitment i have since i retired from ministry in the parish..<br><br><br></p>
