<h3>Junior Litter Pickers:</h3>

<p>During the month of May, the children from Cobh Mixed N.S were invited by the Litter Warden for Cobh, Clodagh Meade, to take part in a project for students called Junior Litter Pickers. The litter warden came to the school to give a talk about the project to the students and teachers. The litter warden brought the children to a badly littered area of Cobh. High vis vests, litter pickers and bags were provided for everyone. The children enjoyed the activity and learned about the importance of not littering and having respect for the town we live in. Well done everyone you did a great job. Thank you to the Litter Warden Clodagh Meade for giving the children an opportunity to take part in the project.</p>
<h3>Beavers last meeting before holidays</h3>

<p>The Beavers enjoyed their last meeting for this scout year this week with a BBQ and a badge presentation for their various projects including all of their work on our garden for their environmental special interest badge!</p>

<p>This morning L.E. SAMUEL BECKETT (P61) departed the Naval Base to undertake a resupply mission to Lebanon carrying mission critical stores to DF Units serving with UNIFIL and UNDOF. The return journey via the Atlantic and Mediterranean is expected to take 24 days. The ship will also return stores to Ireland from those mission areas.</p>

<h3>&nbsp;Cork Choral Festival Visit:</h3>

<p>The students and teachers of Cobh Mixed N.S were invited to attend a choral concert in St Colman’s Cathedral by the Ole Bull Chamber Choir, as part of the Cork International Choral Festival 2022. The children enjoyed the concert and the beautiful singing. Heritage Centre:</p>
<p>The children and teachers of Cobh Mixed N.S recently made a visit to the Cobh Heritage Centre where they took part in the Queenstown Story Exhibition. The children completed the ‘Junior Explorer Quest’ where every child had to complete a questionnaire of 10 questions to discover the ‘secret password’.</p>
<p>The children were also given a passenger ticket and had to find that particular passenger during the tour. The children really enjoyed learning about the emigrants who left Cobh on the Titanic as well as learning about the Famine ships and the Lusitania. Thank you to all the staff of the Cobh Heritage Centre who made our visit very enjoyable.</p>
