The visit of the Wise men from the East to the stable in Bethlehem to visit the Christ Child is very significant. The gifts they bring tell us a great deal of the occasion and what it means. Gold - Traditional gift presented to the new king of the Jews. That was the description over the cross of Christ as he was crucified. Gold is a gift for a king but this king’s kingdom is not of this world. Frankincense - It is used in the worship of God indicates that the baby is God. They realise that the Child before them is God. Myrrh - Myrrh is used in oil to anoint kings and corpses. It foreshadows what is ahead, trial torture and execution. May the Lord Bless our homes this Epiphany!

Our school is celebrating The Feast of The Epiphany today by attending mass both virtually at Cobh Cathedral and physically at Norwood Church! 🌟 We learned all about the importance of January 6th in the Christian Faith where The Three Kings arrived to Bethlehem to meet with the new baby king, Jesus Christ! 👼 Sixth Class were delighted to celebrate mass with Father Tom this morning where he explained the meaning of the Epiphany further and showed us the beautiful crib visible in Norwood Church! 👏 Many thanks to Father Tom for leading a wonderful service and to @cobhparish for broadcasting the masses for us to watch from our classrooms! 💛

Our last day as Jack Doyle’s Bar will be Sunday 15th January. This will be the last night that Jack Doyle’s will be run as a bar as the new owner is selling the pub license. We would like to thank all our loyal customers and staff for the amazing support and hospitality over the past 16 years. We will be holding a farewell night Sunday 15th January to celebrate the end of an era. We will have music from Tom Murray starting from 9PM. Hope to see you all there! Local Cobh artist Gloria O Doherty is having a debut exhibition of her work on Saturday the 7th of January in Cobh Library at 2pm. All are welcome to this the first exhibition from this talented up &amp; coming Cobh artist. Hope to see you all there!
