<p>There is a custom of blessing homes on the Feast of the Epiphany (6 January) when the family gather to ask God’s blessing on their home and family life. It is an invitation for Jesus to be a daily guest in our homes.<br><br>Instructions for Blessing the Home:<br><br>Using the blessed chalk (which many parishes will bless and make available) mark the lintel of your front door as follows:<br><br>20 + C + M + B + 23 saying:<br><br>‘The three Wise Men, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar followed the star of God’s Son who became human two thousand and twenty three years ago.</p>

<p>21 Ditches Walk will be our first community walk in 2023 which will take place in a few weeks time.Awaiting confirmation of date which hopefully will be decided at our January  B.C.A.meeting.🚶‍♀️</p>

<p>This weekend sees a return to rugby for 23 with a full program. Fri, night we welcome Dolphin RFC  to the Paddocks for our J2 fixture, Sunday sees our J1s head west over the county bounds to Tralee RFC  in the opening round of the Munster  Junior Cup. 18.5s boys are also on the road on Sunday, heading across the harbour to Kinsale RFC  in the next phase of their Munster campaign. 16s boys welcome Rfc Listowel  to Cobh while the 14s boys entertain Dunmanway RFC  . The 13s boys head to Temple Hill to play Cork Constitution FC  . The 18.5s girls are in Musgrave Park on Saturday taking on a MIDLETON RFC  @youghal_rfc combination. In the same venue a little later our 14s girls play Dolphin . Saturday also sees our mighty minis return. <br>Laya Healthcare Jim Davis and Co.Ltd Cobh Credit Union Ltd</p>

<h3>Betty Gilmartin RIP<br> <br>With deep sadness, the Club has to announce the passing of our valued former Lady Captain Betty Gilmartin.<br><br>Betty joined Cobh Golf Club in the early 1990s and soon became Lady Captain in 1995.<br><br>She represented Cobh Golf Club on many occasions and in various teams and was always a great ambassador for our Club. Betty was proud to be one of the early Lady Captains and remained a close friend of the Club.<br><br>We will remember Betty always with great respect and fondness.<br><br>Betty will repose at her home on Thursday, January 5th, from 5pm with rosary at 7pm. Removal on Friday, January 6th, at 11.30am to St. Colman's Cathedral for 12noon Requiem Mass followed by burial in Old Church Cemetery.<br><br>Betty's Requiem Mass will be livestreamed on www.cobhcathedralparish.ie<br><br>Cobh Golf Club past Captains &amp; Presidents are providing a guard of honour on Friday 6th January.<br> <br>Cobh Golf Club&nbsp;</h3>
