<h3>The Church throughout the world mourns the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. In our sadness at his call to his eternal home we are moved with a deep sense of gratitude to God for the life and ministry of such a generous, gifted and gentle priest, bishop and pope. As an expression of our sentiments of faith , gratitude and prayerful remembrance a Book of Condolence will be open at St. Colman’s Cathredral, Cobh from Sunday Jan 1st 2023. REMEMBRANCE &amp; THANKSGIVING On Wednesday January 4th 2023 at 7.00pm a PRAYER VIGIL OF REMEMBRANCE &amp; THANKSGIVING will take place in St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh. All are welcome.</h3>

We have come to the end of 2022 and so we reflect on what was the opening up of our country again and life getting back to 'normality'. It was however another year of personal losses for so many including members of the team and we keep them all in our thoughts. It was such a momentous year for us as we started our 10th Anniversary celebrations and what a fantastic one it has been for thanks to so many who invited us to wonderful events, promoted and followed us and shared our posts. To say we are appreciative is an understatement - we could not do it without you all. We appeared on RTÉ News , Irish Examiner, EchoLive.ie , The Cork's 96fm Opinion Line and Corks RedFM 104-106 . We took part in commemorations of the most evocative and tragic events in Irish history such as Michael Collins, Titanic (welcoming the British Titanic Society to Cobh), Lusitania, HMS Mars, SS Ardmore and also some joyous celebrations such as James Joyce-Ulysses Centenary, St Luke's Nursing Home 150th and The Metropole Hotel Cork 125th Anniversaries and Titanic Bar and Grill 10th Anniversary. We also welcomed back some of our favourite events and places such as the Patrick's Day Parade, Shandon Street Festival 2022 , Coal Quay Festival, Spirit of Mother Jones Festival Cork , Clonakilty Old Time Fair, Dragon of Shandon, Fortress Spike Island, Cork Fota House &amp; Gardens , Camden Fort Meagher and just so so many more wonderful occasions in Cork, Limerick, Kerry and Tipperary. One of our highlights was our invite to the gardens of Aras an Uachtarain and visit to the Nationalmuseum and of course our 10th Anniversary Exhibition in the wonderful Cobh Library, our Living History presentations and Culture Night Cork County event in Coliemore House (John Adams Artist). Cobh continued to be on the up and up and is now one of the top Irish and worldwide tourist destinations with the help of the fantastic Cobh Tourism , Cobh Tidy Towns Cobh &amp; Harbour Chamber , Belvelly Castle and so many others who promote the town so amazingly well and we celebrated the joy of living in Cobh with the wonderful cobh summer swing events and the return of Cobh Regatta and the Liners (#portofcork). What a year in Cobh! We hope you enjoy our year in photos and again a huge thank you to all who helped us in any way in particular our local media Cobh2023 , Gicn Cobh , Cobh News , Cobh Edition, Cobh App , Cobh In Many Forms as well as the Douglas Post and also the support of Cork County Council . Wishing every blessing, health and happiness for 2023 to all our families, friends and followers. Looking forward to seeing you all in 2023 and in in the words of our wonderful late founder and friend Claire 'Love, Light and Laughter' to you all!

A big bualadh bos to Peter Howie, who knocked a whopping 4 minutes off his previous best to register a time of 37:57 at the Grange Fermoy AC 10k Race on New Year's Eve. Well done, too, to Shane and Deirdre Meyler, both claiming personal bests over Christmas week at the Clonmel AC 4 Mile Race on St. Stephen's Day, clocking 24:38 and 30:04 respectively.
