<p>Catholic Schools Week 2023 will be celebrated from Sunday 22 January – Sunday 29 January. on the theme ‘Catholic Schools: Walking Together in Faith. <br><br>During Catholic Schools Week families, parishes and schools are invited to participate in a week of celebration of Catholic schools reflecting on their contribution to the common good of society. <br><br>If any school in our Parish is sharing content on social media this week as part of Catholic Schools Week you can use the hashtag #CSW2023<br><br>There is a great variety of resources available on CatholicBishops.ie for each day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was with great sadness that the Cobh Pirates learnt of the passing of Mr Ted McNamara, father of adults coach Ken and grandfather of Cian, Conor and Donagh. <br>On behalf of the Club President, Chairperson, Exec Committee, players and members Cobh Pirates RFC would like to pass on their deepest condolences to the McNamara family. <br>As a mark of respect, our J1 game scheduled for Sunday has been postponed and a minutes silence will be observed before our juvenile games across the weekend. <br>Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.<br><br>Arrangements - Ted will repose at his home (10, Roches Terrace, Cobh) on Sunday 22nd January 2023 from 4.00 p.m. with rosary at 6.00 p.m. Removal to St. Colman’s Cathedral on Monday 23rd January at 11.45 a.m. for 12.00 noon Requiem Mass followed by cremation at the Island Crematorium Ringaskiddy.</p>

<p>GIRLS U14 CUP<br><br>After a difficult League campaign the U14A Girls had a great result today in the Cup with a fine win at home to Watergrasshill<br><br>A very good team performance from all 15 players available, with a no. of  players getting on the scoresheet.  <br><br>The girls got on top early with goals from Isabelle Awan and Lily Quinlan. Further goals from Elle O'Donovan and Annabelle Shek and another from Justyna Michelak  put them in a strong position by half-time.<br><br>Watergrasshill did keep fighting on and were rewarded with a good goal shortly after the restart.<br><br>The girls kept their excellent passing going and Rachel Barrett added another to cap a good start to the New Year for the team.<br><br>Watergrasshill made it difficult for the remainder of the match but the girls finish the game strongly.</p>

<p>All at Cobh Ramblers FC are saddened to hear of the passing of one of our lifelong supporters, Mr Paddy O'Keeffe. <br><br>We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this sad time. <br><br>May he rest in peace</p>
<h3>ROCKMOIUNT GOOD WISHES TO ADAM</h3>

<p>We would like to wish Adam Patterson the very best of luck on the next phase of his developmental journey after signing for Cobh Ramblers U14 League of Ireland side.<br>Adam started with the Rockmount Academy at the tender age of 5 and continued his progression into Schoolboys football with the club.<br><br>During the 2020/21 season he played for both the U12 &amp; U13 sides winning an U12 Div 1 title in an unbeaten league campaign along with an U13 Local Cup at Turners Cross. <br>This is where he honed his defensive capabilities at a competitive level &amp; excelled in the role.<br><br>Adam captained the U13 side in the 2021/22 season &amp; led them to the Premier runners up spot losing out on the title by a single point. He topped that off by collecting the U13 Player of the Year.<br>He also starred for the U14s in their promotion from Div 1 also finishing runners up.<br><br>He captained the U14 Premier side again this 2022/23 season as well as starring for the U15 Premier side until his departure for LOI this month.<br><br>Adam is a fantastic footballer, a commanding defender, cool calm &amp; collected on the pitch, he leads by example &amp; most importantly he’s a great kid &amp; a great teammate.<br>He was an absolute pleasure to coach for the Rockmount management teams &amp; is a credit to his family &amp; the club.<br><br>The future is bright for this young star, we’re very proud of him &amp; we’ll certainly miss him in the Rockmount colours 💛💚</p>
