<h2><span style="color: rgb(184,49,47);">Munster just brilliant on historic night at the Park</span></h2>

<p>History was made on the night of 10th November 2022 when for the first time rugby was played in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with Cristy Ring's prophecy fulfilled that  a world class rugby team would one day play in the ground that was known as the 'Park"<br><br>A highly depleted Munster team rose to the unique occasion in front of a full house and turned on a performance that very few teams could have beaten.<br><br>Munster took on a South African team containing 14 full internationals. Players of the calibre of Johan Goosen at outhalf, who is tipped to take the number one spot on the Springbok's team. World class second row pairings of Jason Jenkins of Leinster and Ruan Nortje and the weight of the pack, Munster rose to extraordinary heights to beat such formidable opponents. In the last quarter the Springboks threw everything at Munster but our defence held out to win by double scores.<br>Although Ben Healy is Munster's third string at out half he played a superb role with goal kicking of the highest calibre and he commanded play. Paddy Patterson, again the third string, was voted man of the match with superb passes. Edwin Edogbo proved to be an enormous talent and with Kiran McDonald matched the power of the Boks. Full back Mike Haley was superb under the high balls and his scintillating runs cut through several defenders. Shane Daly has to be a contender for a World Cup call up and took the first try masterfully.<br>Let's hope that Munster's display in Pairc Ui Chaoimh can set the scene for the Province for the remainder of the season.</p>

<p>Cobh and the Great  island has a tremendous involvement in all sports, enjoying wonderful success. For most sports people their grounding  and path to success began at Primary School. There has been great excitement on the Island this week. The schools have shown their support for the team this week. Pairc Ui Chaoimh will be  the centre of attraction  for many on Sunday when the Junior Footballers take on Kilmurray from the Mid Cork division on Sunday. Hopefully they will have huge support as did the under 12 girls  who represented Pirates on the same arena on Friday night and Edwin Egdobo who had a fantastic game for Munster in their victory   over South Africa.</p>

The App can be downloaded on Apple or Google. Just type in Xplore Local and you have a choice of selecting 20 towns and choose Cobh. It has over 100 listings and there is no need to be on other social media platforms and its totally free. Thanks to   Cobh Credit Union who contributed €5,000 of the €10,000 to set up all the listings and I contributed the other €5,000. I put at least 2 hours everyday into compiling and updating the news usually more than 10  stories and the record for a day is 28.
