<p>I was presented with this singular cake by John Dolan, features editor of The Echo newspaper yesterday . Twas an acknowledgment for the approach of the one thousandth  column I contributed for the last 20 years on the songs of Cork.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I don’t know how we re going to attack this cake; the encrypted, confected representation  of my doleful visage ,I find ,isn’t the most appetising. Maybe the neighbours will help!</p>
<p>Watch out for the Echo’s podcast we recorded yesterday.&nbsp;</p>
<p>It has been a great pleasure to work with my editor, John Dolan, who bequeathed me great empathy and patience  with  this project. He wants another thousand Cork ballads! That brings me up to 91- still a young man!</p>

<p>Fantastic to see so many girls enjoying our FAI Ireland Soccer Sisters all female Easter camps this week.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The camp also runs next week Tuesday-Thursday 10.00am-1.00p.m and there are a small number of places still available.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Cost is €30 and the girls get a training top and football.</p>

<p>&nbsp;This weekend we are playing the stack memorial kindly sponsored by the stack family.</p>
<p>The competition will be stableford off the white tees and re entry is allowed.</p>
<p>There will be a prize presentation for the winners next weekend.</p>
<p>In keeping with the tradition of the stack weekend the prize winners will be overall winner, 2nd, 3rd Gross Best Fri, Sat, Sun Seniors, Junior and Ladies.</p>
