<h2>Tidy towns not resting on their laurels but back to work to prepare for the coming year</h2>
A lovely morning to be out and great work done finishing the preparation of the riverside bank at Rushbrooke for spring growth, a little beach clean there, street litter picking and leaf gathering all around town.

Garvey's Supervalu Cobh invited us out to mark last weekend’s great news for Cobh and had bubbles to mark the occasion as well as chocolates &amp; a bottle to thank the volunteers for their part in the award. Thanks to manager John Paul Curtin and to Johanna Murphy Cobh &amp; Harbour Chamber for their kind words and encouragement.
The new sign at the store is great as is the Big Pix Billboard which you’ll see around Cobh. It was great to catch up with Martin &amp; Paul from Cork County Council this morning to share the trophy and thank them especially for their work promoting pollinator-friendly planting and wood carvings around town.&nbsp;
<h2>Busy as beavers</h2>
Thank you so much to the fantastic kids in Cobh Sea Scouts who hiked out to Carrigaloe to take part in a beach clean challenge! We started off with the Clean Coasts #2MinuteBeachClean and picked an incredible 113 different pieces of rubbish in those two minutes. That's 113 pieces of litter that will not end in the belly of our fish, dolphins, birds or any other creature using our coastal waters.&nbsp;
After seeing what they could collect in 2minutes, they all spread out and spent the next hour and a half collecting all manner of litter from the beach. Thank you to the Beavers, their leaders and their families for all playing their part to make Cobh Ireland's Tidiest Large Town!
