<p>Ms. Scannell's class has been running lots of laps around our school this week with each child making the effort to run AT LEAST 1KM A DAY!</p>
<p>They also dodged the rain this week, getting out and going for a run after school. Well done Rang a Ceathair and keep up the good work!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cobh Pirates RFC held their awards for the 13s, 14s and 16s age categories this week. Juvenile chairperson Enda Murphy opened the proceedings thanking everyone for attending, in particular the parents for their commitment throughout the year. The executive Committee and grounds staff were recognised for their work behind the scenes. He thanked the sponsors, without whom running the club would be extremely difficult. In speaking about the season gone, he commended all the players for wearing the Pirates jersey with pride and passion and encouraged them to do so for many years to come.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Lead coachs for the 3 age grades, Keith Woods, Kevin OKeefe and Ray Duignam thanked their squads and recognised the efforts made all season.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This will be my last staff post on what is my last day working at SIRIUS! In June I will take up the role of Director at the Lavit Gallery, Cork City. Although I am looking forward to this new challenge, it is with some sadness that I say farewell to my SIRIUS colleagues, our building and Cobh.</p>
<p>&nbsp;I began working at SIRIUS in 2015 and have been involved in the production of over 30 exhibitions, working with a host of artists and two successive Directors. SIRIUS is an organisation with a rich history and I am proud to have been involved for so many memorable moments.</p>
<p>&nbsp;A portion of my current portfolio of responsibilities at SIRIUS have now been advertised as a part-time production-focused role. I joined the organisation as an artist wishing to acquire some skills relating to exhibition making. In the intervening years I have learned an incredible amount through working with people but also through doing. If you are a freelance arts worker or an artist with production skills it is an excellent opportunity to be involved in exciting future projects and to work in a special building.</p>
<p>&nbsp;I wish our Director Miguel Amado, the team and the Board of Directors the very best in the future. I will of course be staying in touch and playing my part in continuing the connection between the arts community in Cork City and the good ship SIRIUS. God bless all who sail in her.</p>
