<p>Congratulations to Amy Duggan on her selection on the final 12 of the Irish U18 Women’s team. The FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship (Division 😎 will take place in Oberwart, Austria from 5th to 14th August. Ireland are in Group D with Serbia, Romania, Austria and Denmark.</p>
<p>Amy has played all her basketball with Cobh BC and her school St Aloysius, Carrigtwohill. She is the middle child of Eamon and Cathy Duggan. Her sisters, Ellie and Leah, also play with Cobh BC. Her grandparents Paddy and Monica McCarthy and Ann Duggan are understandably thrilled by her selection as are all her relatives, teammates and friends. All of our club are delighted for Amy and her family.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And that’s a wrap! Great season with a really great group of girls. Looking forward to U16 in September!</p>
<p>Our U15 girls had an end of season visit to Supermacs where they enjoyed a deserved end of season get together.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The club would like to thank Jillian and Michelle for the great work done over the course of the season.</p>
<h3>Chill on the  Hill</h3>
<p>The young people from the Cobh Youth Services were performing and exhibiting at the Youth Festival in the Marina Market on Saturday, 14th May.  This festival was organised by the CETB to celebrate the young people participating in the youth services in the city and county Cork ETB Youth Services   Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth  Well done to all the young people, you were great!!!</p>

<p>Thank you to everyone who supported our Cake Sale last week for Cobh Rescue Horses.</p>
<p>In total we raised €425. We look forward to presenting a cheque to them in the coming days and seeing our donation being put to use in their facilities.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>St Mary's</h3>
<p>Miss Greally's 6th Class  proudly receive their medals, certs and prizes for their fantastic entries in the  Irish Scríobh Leabhar (Forás na Gaeilge) Storywriting Competition. A overall National winner will be announced in June!! 🤞😁 Thanks to Seaán Horgan, Director of the Cork Education Support Centre who came to the school to present the prizes.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>MERC Curiosity Cube</h3>

<p>We are delighted to welcome the Merck Curiosity Cube to our school on Monday 30th May. Merck have very kindly donated a whopping ✨ €1000.00 ✨ to our school to fund STEM activities at St. Mary’s N.S. We feel very lucky and are very appreciative of this generous donation. A massive thank you to @merckgroup @merck @curiositycube_merck .&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Curiosity Cube®️ is a retrofitted shipping container that has been transformed into a mobile science lab equipped with the latest technology.</p>
<p>It hosts interactive, hands-on science lessons to spark curiosity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) for students aged 8-13.</p>
<p>The curiosity cube will be staffed by Merck employees, allowing students to ask questions and discuss their possible future careers in STEM.</p>
