<h3>Ahead of the Feast of the Annunciation, this Friday  March the  25th, Pope Francis extended an invitation to every community and all the faithful to unite with him for the Solemn Act of the Consecration of all of humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that She - the Queen of Peace - may help us obtain peace.</h3>

<h3>We invited you to join Bishop William Crean, Bishop of Cloyne in-person in St. Colmans Cathedral Cobh,  this  Friday evening at 6pm as he led the Diocese in this Act of Consecration. The liturgy was also  live-streamed. In churches and parishes, people were  invited to spend time in prayer on Friday for peace in Ukraine. Thanks to all who gave up their time and showed solidarity with the people of Ukraine. In the front seat of the cathedral was a Ukranian family, who fled Ukraine just a few weeks ago, a young family of 4 children and their parents, Taras and Victoria Dolynski. The dad a friend of of our Deacon Damien for 17 years and who has good English, told us that he is glad that his family have taken refuge here and the 4 children go to school at Bun Scoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh in Rushbrooke. Children will be children no matter what they go through and it was beautiful to see them after the ceremony  making friends with Fr Tom's  dog toffee as the picture shows.</h3>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);">What an evening we had at our fundraiser for The Ukraine Red Cross - an amazing €1065 collected on the night from donations and raffle sales, congratulations to the many winners of spot prizes and also the Quiz winners. Thank you to all those that donated prizes on the night and also those that couldn’t make it but still donated - some photos of the night!!</span></p>

<p>Friday nights ball boy team for the Munster v Benetton game in Musgrave Park are our U16s. The lads are at the ground, getting their instructions and looking forward to their supporting role in the game.</p>

<p>Cobh PIRATES RFC  lock Edwin Edogbo joined the Greencore Munster Rugby Academy as a 19-year-old in November 2021, becoming the first player from the club to earn a place in the Academy.</p>
<p>Currently sidelined with an achilles tendon injury, Edwin has lined out for UCC in the AIL and studies engineering at the university.</p>
