<p>There were breezy conditions for the annual dinghy race from Cobh to Ballinacurra in Cork Harbour on Sunday.</p>
<p>Organised by Cove Sailing Club in conjunction with the National 18 Class, the race started as usual from the Spit Bank area off Cobh.</p>

<p>It was such a privilege to host a Past Presidents lunch on a beautiful sunny day at the Watersedge Hotel&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>So interesting to hear their memories, with terms ranging back to 1971, when David Bird took up the position.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The first President was James Meagher in 1958 when the Chamber was started.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alongside its local community, we have big ambitions for Cobh. We drew up public realm enhancements of Cobh’s town centre with a people-centred approach, and we are so grateful for the level of public participation in our Part 8 process for this project in the beautiful harbour town.</p>
<p>We saw active public engagement over an 18 month period, participation in an online public preview and 722 submissions to the process.</p>
<p>The design development engaged workshops and remote presentations throughout.</p>
<p>This level of engagement and participation has made this project a case study for public participation good practice nationally.</p>
<p>Next, we'll respond to national funding calls, and we look forward to continuing this project alongside the active community of Cobh and applying our learnings here throughout the County.</p>
