<p>There is a lot of suffering in our world today. Our Parish feels that this suffering and prayer for heeling needs to be expressed publicly, shared with friends and neighbours who may be totally unaware of the suffering of others.&nbsp;</p>
<p>We invite you all to place a piece of material into the basket by the shroud and it will be attached to the shroud.&nbsp;</p>
<p>On Good Friday after Veneration of the Cross the shroud will be brought in procession to the altar and placed on the Cross.&nbsp;</p>
<p>After the Easter Ceremonies it will be carried in procession to the outside of the Cathedral and burned in the Paschal fire symbolising letting go of the pain through the power of the resurrection.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thank you to Liz and Bernie from our Parish Pastoral Council for organising this years Shroud.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alisha Russell and Billy Roberts presented the €240.01 collected by TY's, along with food donated by Eurospar to Cork Penny Dinners from 4th yrs. who are taking part in Cooperation Ireland’s Youth Leadership Programme and who are currently completing a Social Action Project.</p>

<p>On the eve of the 110th Anniversary of the Titanic, the 2022 Annual Convention by the British Titanic Society was opened yesterday. It was touching listening to Deirdre O'Brien (grandniece of Denis O'Brien) telling the story of her family and “keep the Titanic's memory alive” as Johanna Murphy (Cobh and Harbour Chamber President) said in her ribbon-cutting speech.</p>

<p>All in Cobh Pirates were deeply saddened yesterday on the receipt of the awful news that our dear friend Liam Allister had left us. On behalf of the Club President, Executive Committee and Members of Cobh Pirates RFC, on the  passing of ex-player, mini-coach and member, Liam, we would like to extend our sincere sympathies to his son Will, daughter Ciara, brothers, sisters, parents- in- law Billy &amp; Sheila, brothers-in-law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.</p>
<p>Flags will be at half mast over the weekend as a mark of respect.</p>
