<h3>This evening we were truly honored to welcome to Cobh, the family and friends of the late Ashling Murphy.</h3>

As most of you may know, earlier this year, we made the decision to name mile 4 after Ashling. Some of Ashling’s family and friends have made the journey to Cobh and will be walking and running tomorrow along side you all.&nbsp;
This means the absolute world to us to have them here with us tomorrow . ❤️
There will be times in race tomorrow that will feel hard and you may want to give up, all we ask is during these times, remember Ashling, she was going for a run. You can do it, one step at a time. ❤️

On Saturday 2nd of April we are holding a 12hr marathon from 9am to 9pm.&nbsp;
We are asking all our Tennis and Croquet members to come along and support with a donation or by taking part and booking a tennis court or Croquet lawn for 1hr slots.&nbsp;
All donations collected are in aid of the Irish Red Cross to help with their efforts with the Ukrianain Crisis.&nbsp;

Get into golf women's programme

We are trying very hard to increase our membership numbers in our our ladies club.
To this end, our lady members, in partnership with Golf Ireland, are hosting a Get Into Golf programme for ladies of all ages.
We ask that ALL members spread the word about this excellent programme which has proven a huge success in both our own club and all participating clubs up and down the country.
Recent research from the R&amp;A shows an increase in golf participation in Ireland.
29% of 15 to 24-year-olds tried or started golf again in any on or off-course format because of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
Key highlights from the 2021 Ireland Golf Participation Report:Total adult golfers on a full-length course (9 or 18 hole) marginally increased from 540,000 to 543,000
Female golfer full course users increased to 21% of golfers (70,000 to 111,000)
Core golfers (regular golfers who played 12-51 times and avid golfers who played more than 52 times) rose from 161,000 to 201,000
18% of the population tried or started golf again in any on or off-course format because of the pandemic (in 2020 or 2021), rising to 29% of those aged 15-24
We need to increase our female membership, so please spread the word and print the poster if you can, display it in your work place, colleges or schools.
This course has restricted numbers so it is a first come first severed bases.

Coral Leisure secures over €109,000 in Swimming Pool Grants with Coral Leisure Cobh receiving €12,929.90.
Sport Ireland and Ireland Active this week announced that 8 Coral Leisure centres nationwide have been allocated a total of €109,199 in Covid recovery grants. These grants are specifically for swimming pool operators in recognition of the importance of the sector and the impact swimming has on the nation’s health.&nbsp;
Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht Jack Chambers TD speaking this week said “Swimming Pool operators demonstrated their resilience throughout the pandemic. It is important that this resilience continues. The funding announced today will assist swimming pool operators to continue getting communities across the country active and providing a real-life skill. This has never been more important and is essential for our physical and mental wellbeing.”&nbsp;
Coral Leisure centre swimming pools provide a vital resource for schools, clubs and communities across the country, and it is important that this infrastructure is maintained going forward. This investment will help Coral Leisure to continue to provide a safe and essential service which is vital to sustain swimming and maintain high physical activity levels in our local communities&nbsp;
These grants are the result of weeks of hard work by the Coral Leisure Management and Energy Champions in each centre gathering the relevant data and submitting applications.&nbsp;&nbsp;

An action packed weekend in Cobh! This morning our volunteers were busy painting railings, litter picking the The Cobh 10 route for tomorrow’s race and sweeping heavily littered cigarette butt and detritus from verges and under seats down town.&nbsp;
We finished up attending the unveiling of the 1st Cobh Little Library by local author Michelle Dunne whose latest book is due for release on 25th April. Some lucky people managed to get a preview edition to take home and they will be returned for others to take and read. The library is at Port Ops at the entrance to Titanic Memorial Garden. Well done to the Little Library team.&nbsp;

We are currently seeking new volunteers across our ambulance unit and with community support. We are looking for drivers and first aiders. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us via Facebook, Instagram or on 0877749994.&nbsp;
Full training will be provided for all volunteers from basic first aid up to EMT training.
