We had a great day at #cobhfarmersmarket on Friday, and, good to his word Minister Simon Coveney paid us a visit in Cobh in lieu of the @walterscheelmedaille ceremony at the smokehouse the previous week, which he’d had to miss. It was another proud day for our staff who have worked so hard and deserve the recognition they’ve received on so many levels in the past couple of weeks. We’d also like to thank our our support network, our suppliers, our advisers and all those who shop with us week in week out. It takes a whole food community to keep an important tradition alive and well. Here’s to more awards like this for Ireland, and the next 40 years at the smokehouse!

It was our pleasure meeting Guy Jones visiting Cobh, The Queenstown Story at Cobh Heritage Centre on Sunday. I met this gentleman and other dignitaries when they came to Cobh for the launching of the Cobh Titanic Memorial in 2012.&nbsp;

The artist Fiona Kelly is working with us on a solo show featuring a new work that she has been researching and producing in the last couple of years via ongoing dialogue with us and facilitated by a residency at GannonECO.
She comments: "A Temporary Iteration is a constructed space where the subterranean geological structures become pseudo landscapes, holding fleeting topographies of waste, demolition and organic regrowth."
The launch event is taking place on 7 May, 2-4pm.
