<p>Peacefully, in the tender care of the staff of St. Bernadette’s Ward, Bon Secours Hospital, Cork. Pre- deceased by her beloved parents Jeremiah &amp; Margaret &amp; her sister Ollie &amp; brother Tom.Sr. Mary will be sadly missed &amp; lovingly remembered by her loving brother Billy, sister Noreen Finnegan, sister-in-law Noreen, brother-in-law Tadhg, niece, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, Sr. Ann Marie, Mercy Community, Cobh, Mercy Sisters, Southern Province &amp; a large circle of friends.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Requiem Mass on Tuesday 15th of March at 2pm followed by burial in St Gobnait’s Cemetery, Mallow. Arriving in Mallow Approx 4.30pm</p>

<h3>&nbsp;Sr Mary A sister of Mercy for all seasons and many reasons.</h3>
<p>Great sadness was felt on the entire island and further afield with the passing of Sr Mary Cashman,  after a long illness patiently borne. Dedicated to her religious and teaching vocations she went above and beyond the call of duty, attending to the educational and spiritual needs of all the many people whose lives she touched for over 50 years. After retiring from teaching she continued to immerse herself in many aspects of parish life. Her work in preparing children for the sacraments of First Holy Communion was very much appreciated. She also put a huge amount of time into preparing ministers of the word. She also ensured that the linens cloths for the church were always in pristine condition. Her hospitality was another speciality and for me the Christmas Eve dinner was looked forward to with relish. She proved to be a loyal friend to so many people in good times and when times were difficult, she will be sorely missed. Enjoy your new life,  good and faithful servant, in the presence of the Lord.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Well done to the some of our TY students and Ms. Cleary for committing to doing a litter pick on Tuesday morning, weather permitting over the next few weeks.</p>
<p>Thank you to Jackie and Cobh Tidy Towns for donating some pollinator plants and to the Green school committee for organising the planting in close proximity to our newly planted fruit trees. Well done Jay, Cian and Alisha pictured below.</p>

<p>Our committee want to make the parade as safe as possible for all entries and for all onlookers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We welcomed a lovely couple this morning at the Cobh tourist office. Sarah Grunder Ruiz was looking for information about local establishments where she could conduct some research for a new book she is writing. We were delighted to point her in the direction of some renowned establishments to meet some locals.</p>

<p>Our TY Film crew had a great day at the First Cut Youth Film Festival in Youghal last Friday.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Over four days, a selection of short films were showcased and the festival created a platform for the voices of students to be heard, their stories to be told and for them to share their talents.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our crew were delighted to celebrate, connect and their own films at this festival.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thank you to Ms. Carley and Mr. O’ Donovan for accompanying them on the day.&nbsp;</p>
