<h3>ESB workers brave the elements</h3>

Well done to the ESB lads who are out in the freezing cold working on fixing a fallen pole and cables, as below, and will hopefully have power up and running by 10pm.

Currently thousands are without power with status yellow weather warnings in place for the entire country.

The last two nights felt like an absolute dream. I challenged myself to write a panto of Snow White set in UCC, after writing a traditional Aladdin and Red Riding Hood one. Seeing it produced by @uccdramatsociety and the staging by @totally_uncool was magical. Thank you so much to all involved, the cast and overall production were amazing. Thank you to everyone who came to support the show and to support wonderful charities.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<h3>Springfield Ramblers GIRLS in NATIONAL CUP LAST 32</h3>
This Saturday it is the turn of the Springfield Ramblers U12 Girls in the Last 32 of the National Cup. The game will take place on the Stephen Ireland AstroTurf at 1:30 vs East Meath.&nbsp;
This is a fantastic achievement for this young squad to get this far, most of whom will be able to play at this age again next year, so please come out and support them as they attempt to join the boys in the last 16 of the national cup. We promise you won't be disappointed by this fantastic group of girls.

<h3>Jim Wilson talks to Col Mhuire students</h3>

In early February, Coláiste Muire welcomed 4 past pupils to speak to our TY’s. Our 3rd speaker was Jim Wilson, ornithologist, writer and photographer who spoke to students about his varied career and his travels to the Antarctic.&nbsp;&nbsp;
He shared his personal observations regarding climate change. Jim presented an array of photographs that showed images of wildlife and how climate change and global warming are impacting their natural habitats.
<h3> Life's experience from Martin Deady</h3>
In early February 1st, Coláiste Muire welcomed 4 past pupils to speak to our TY’s. Guest speaker number 4: Martin Deady.&nbsp;
Martin was a skilled soccer player as a student in Coláiste Muire. He completed his Leaving Certificate in 2008. In 2007, he represented Ireland in an international soccer tournament, his jersey on display in school. Martin went on to Sports and Exercise Science in the University of Limerick.&nbsp;

In 2014 Martin captained Cobh Ramblers in the League of Ireland First Division and he has also played for Premier Division club Longford Town. Martin now works with Stats Perform, as Soccer Operations Manager, who are based in Limerick, and he manages a team of approximately 90 staff who collectively produce live and post soccer data to betting, media, and clubs around the world.&nbsp;
A great example of how your hobby can lead to your future career.

<h3>Harbour Chamber Networking event a huge success </h3>
The first in our series of networking events sponsored by the Simply Blue Group was a huge success on Thursday evening. It was wonderful to meet and talk to everyone in person again with a special visit from Ms Karen Van Vlierberge, Ambassador of Belgium to Ireland.

The glass has been falling all the afternoon,
And knowing better than the instrument
What winds are walking overhead, what zone

Moves inward toward a silent core of waiting,
