<h3>Boston Marathon</h3>

I ticked off one event on my bucket list today by attending the Boston marathon. The iconic race is a spectacle and a race with a rich history for the Irish going back to Neil Cusack's win nearly 50 years ago. From a spectator point of view it's a nightmare at least that's my experience even though I had the benefit of being driven around. Got a very good view of the participants at the halfway point. But did not make it back to the finish in time and if I did it was next to impossible to get near it. I enjoyed the experience but for me it definitely was a once off. Credit the organization though it's a huge operation and great for the participants who take part, but not for spectators. It was nice to see Maggie Brice running a solid 3.30 and my 2 friends from Hawaii Brad and Mariana. Maggie's dad Joe was the first athlete I was associated with in Midleton nearly 50 years who got a scholarship to ULowell for discus and shot and is still here and I'm Delighted with his good wife Meg to be their guest since last Wednesday until Friday.

We had a fantastic event with Cobh Supernatural Investigators this past Saturday 16 April as part of Marie Brett's exhibition The Hidden Mountain, The Fort and the Five Trees, which we are currently presenting.
Cobh Supernatural Investigators explore and often encounter paranormal activity on Great Island, County Cork. They prove – or disprove – the existence of unexplained phenomena by locating and recording signs of paranormal activity. They employ a range of techniques and devices – including thermal imaging equipment, electromagnetic meters, temperature meters, ion detectors, and Geiger counters – to look for unusual temperatures, magnetic fields, and radiation, all of which are believed to be signs of paranormal activity.
They conducted a night-time enquiry into our building, which seems to have a history of mysterious, unexplained occurrences. As Brett comments, “It was a great night; the team were hugely generous and gifted all of us gathered there a chance to respectfully experience elements of our unknown world(s).”

Our U13 Premier and U13B squads played out an entertaining match at a sunny Pat O’ Brien Park this evening in the last 32 of the Local Cup. U13 Premier advance to the last 16 after overcoming a determined U13B side.&nbsp;

&nbsp;The 1st Round of the Men's Senior Section Inter Club JB Carr Diamond Trophy takes place tomorrow Wednesday when Cobh Men's Senior Section take on Fermoy GC in Cobh at 1130.
Cobh will be represented by the following Members;
