<p>Cobh Credit Union are delight to announce details of our Student Education Bursary.  This year we are using a simpler format, all you need to do is complete the form available at www.cobhcu.ie/bursary, email it to info@cobhcu.ie  or drop it into our office.  This is available to all Credit Union members both existing active members and new members from 01/09/2022 who sat their Leaving Cert in 2022.  Students who open an account after this date need make 4 weekly lodgements up to 30/09/2022.  The Draw will take place on World Credit Union Day, 20/10/2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Racing against an Olympian isn't something that happens often and you were inspirational to all our swimmers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At several locations around Cobh people, are getting ready for the annual cut and lift of their native wildflower meadow areas.When developing a wildflower area, the best guidance is always to remove all cuttings. This helps to keep soil fertility at a minimum which encourages wildflower growth (leaving cut grass or mulching adds fertility to the soil and will only encourages grasses to grow which out-compete the wildflowers). While the areas may have looked ‘untidy’ since many of the flowers died off in the last month or so they and the grasses have provide shelter and breeding areas for many insects before the autumn season. Also the seeds that fall feed next years bees!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Christchurch in Rushbrooke has been a haven for wildlife throughout the Spring and Summer.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Now as the parishioners prepare for September meadow management they also are busy organising a gorgeous concert with the amazing Karen Underwood on September 10th. Get your tickets for a great night in a unique venue.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Brilliant win for under 13 footballers at Ballynoe, Thursday evening. Cobh under 13 team comprising of the bulk of the under 12 team who lost out narrowly in the Co league at Kealkil on Sunday last, in fact 4 of them are actually under 11. They were playing St. Cathetine's from the Conna, Ballynoe parish, renowned as a camogie stronghold  and have won Senior Co titles. They are in their first season in ladies Football and have a staggering 200 membership. They made a lightning start  having the ball in the net twice in the first 2 minutes. The young  Cobh team were playing on the full pitch with the full goalposts and that was a shock to the system. They looked set for a drubbing, but thankfully it did not happen, the opposite did. They  knuckled-down to the task in hand and playing a lovely brand of expansive football using the open spaces to good effect the forwards got some beautiful scores. The defense after the shaky start got on top and they ran out deserving winners on a score line of 7-9 to 4-4. This win should be a huge fillip for the under 12 team who play the 2nd round of the Co League at home on Saturday. Thanks to the St Cathetine's ladies for providing refreshments after the game.</p>
<h2>BASKETBALL<br>The Boys U14 Team (born 2009) have returned to training and have spaces for new players.&nbsp;</h2>
<p>So if you know any boys who have played before and are itching to get back onto a court or any boys who have always wanted to play basketball, please pop the coach a message on our page&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Flower Club</h2>
<p>Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its next meeting in Official Cobh - Great Island Community Centre on Monday next 5th September at 7pm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>NEW players, new training facilities, and a new pitch will hopefully bring new luck for Davin O’Neill’s Cobh Wanderers this season.</p>
<p>Playing in the MSL senior premier division, Wanderers will look to be challenging at the top and having got off to a good start in the cup competition, they are confident they can be competitive this season.</p>

<p>My name is Nic Flanagan, and I’d like to introduce myself to you all. I am collaborating with SIRIUS in aspects related to the delivery of the programme.</p>
<p>I have worked in the arts for almost a decade, as a practitioner (printmaking, performance), facilitator and curatorial researcher. I have produced programmes in the context of, and as part of, various projects for institutions across the country. I have an MFA in Art + Research Collaboration from Dún Laoighre Institute of Art Design + Technology in Dublin and a BA in Fine Art from MTU Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork City.</p>
