Congratulations to our two young athletes who made their way to Templemore, Tipperary, for this weekend's Munster Track &amp; Field Juvenile Championships.&nbsp;
Byron Frahill was first into action and unlucky not to progress to the final of the u13 80m sprint when finishing joint third in his heat, hitting the line in 11:56
Byron added to his experience of competition at provincial level by taking part in the Long Jump. For a relative new recruit to the sport, this young man is doing very well for himself and will no doubt feature again in future bulletins.
The Ballymore Cobh contingent opened up the second day of competition just as they had closed out day one with Alfie Cummins taking to the Long Jump and only narrowly missing out on a medal when finishing in fourth place.&nbsp;
Not to be outdone, Alfie put aside any disappointment on the jumping front by running himself on to the podium for a silver medal in the (timed) 300m after he finished first in his heat where he clocked 55:62
Building on from a bronze medal over the same distance at this season's Indoors, Alfie has shown himself to be another young athlete moving in the right direction.&nbsp;
Well done to both boys for their commitment, and also to their coaches and parents for supporting them on their journey so far.

<h3>Cobh GC Open Weekend in aid of Irish Heart Foundation</h3>
&nbsp;Cobh Golf Club will hold a 3-day Open Fundraising Weekend from 01-03 July
2022. Funds will be raised for the Irish Heart Foundation and for Club
development.
Amazing prizes will include an electric golf trolley, Green Fees for the Old Head
of Kinsale, Hotel vouchers worth €1000 and plenty of golf merchandise. The
competition will be in Single, Stableford format for both, Gents and Ladies.
Participation fee will be €20 for members and €35 for visitors.
Some Tee-Box sponsorships are still available for full T-Box ownership (€150)
and shared Tee-Box ownership (€100). A well visible A2-size solid Signage will
be placed on the tee-box and the sponsors can add their own advertisement
material. Details of the sponsorships can be received from the Pro Shop or
through email: secretary@cobhgolfclub.ie. Please check with your company if
they would be interested in a sponsorship.
An amazing raffle for a hamper including 2 Green Fees of the Old Head and
attractive golf merchandise will also be held. Lines can be bought in the Pro
Shop.
We hope to see many of you supporting this weekend and enjoy a great day on
the course!
<h3>Volunteers needed tomorrow tuesday 14th June</h3>
&nbsp;We have started a project of cutting back rough grass from in-between holes 3 &amp; 4.
We would be very grateful to any members who could give up a few hours in the morning to help gather the cut grass.

Many congratulations to Caoimhe Carolan who has been selected to represent Munster in the Schools Interprovincial 1,500m. A great achievement for this dedicated athlete who is a pupil at St Als Carrigtwohill.

Another brilliant performance by the under 12 development squad most of whom are under 11 against Inch Rovers In Killeagh this Monday evening. They are coming on by leaps and bounds in every game playing a lovely brand of possession football with excellent passing. A team for the future if they stick together.
