<h3>Brilliant relay win for a team representing the Great Island at the BAM Cork City sports on Tuesday evening</h3>

<p>My golfing partner and former chief of Adidas Ireland Michael O"Connell asked me could I muster a team for the 4x200m relay at the BAM  Cork City sports. Knowing I would not be at the event I'm in Spain for may nephews wedding,  I invited  4 young athletes from Cobh  to run, and try and emulate the team that won the event four years ago, in a time just over 2 minutes. Unfortunately Aine Sheridan had to opt out due to playing a soccer match with Cobh Ramblers, leaving Ava Chandler, Caoimhe Carolan and Aisling O"Leary,   I left it to them to find a 4th and they asked a schoolmate from St Al's Carrigtwohill Katie Hennesy to oblige. I just watched a video of the race and I was thrilled they stormed to victory in a brilliant time of 1.58  for the 800m distance. Well done girls and to your families for ensuring that you were able to take part.</p>

<p>Aisling and Kate clinch it for Team Ireland with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Seychelles in the doubles. Ireland win the tie 3-0 🇮🇪🍀💪🤩 Big congrats to Caragh and Kate on their fantastic debuts!&nbsp;</p>

<p>So fabulous to see the first notices on our new community information board outside the community centre on this glorious July evening.Our new tennis net is on route and hopefully some great tennis matches will take place over the coming months.🎾🥎 The centre is looking absolutely fabulous thanks to Grainne and staff for all their great work inside and outside the building.🌹🎓🏡</p>

<p>Well done to all our community volunteers who were out at the weekend doing trojan work taking care of our historical and community project areas and litter picking in Marlogue Woods and beach.With sincere gratitude also, once again, to Cobh County Council for their weekly collections of litter bags in the area this past few weeks.👏👏</p>

<p>WEEE Ireland will take any household items that use a plug or battery for recycling. They will be in Cobh on Saturday July 23rd from 10am - 4pm.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thank you to Cork County Council and WEEE Ireland for helping to reduce illegal dumping by providing this excellent service.</p>

<h3>O.N.E Golf Classic</h3>
<p>&nbsp;This Friday we will host the annual O.N.E Golf Classic.</p>
<p>Teams of 3 playing in a scramble format is €90 or €30 per person.</p>
<p>There are magnificent prizes on offer and a seniors team prize has been recently added.</p>
<p>Tee times are available online on our BRS booking platform.</p>
<h3>Mixed Foursomes</h3>
<p>&nbsp;Hi ladies and gents a reminder of the mixed Foursomes tomorrow Wednesday, timesheet 17.30 to 18.30. Come and join us for a fun game, weather forecast good. A great way to get to know other members and pick up a few tips as well. See you there Eileen and Phodge</p>
<h3>Juvenile Coaching</h3>
<p>&nbsp;The tee is booked from 12.00am on Wednesday 06th June for our weekly competition/gathering.</p>
<p>Registration will begin from 11.30am in the Pro Shop.</p>
<p>All members and new members are welcome to attend.</p>
<p>Our summer juvenile programme consists of several coaching sessions with our Club Professional and 9 &amp; 18 Hole competitions.</p>

<p>Membership forms will be available on the day.</p>

<p>The annual Reek Sunday pilgrimage takes place on Sunday July 31st at Croagh Patrick.  Confessions on the summit 7:30am - 2:00pm.  Mass hourly from 8:00am - 2.00pm&nbsp;</p>
<p>We  would also be grateful to hear from any priest with a valid Celebret who would be in a position to assist on the summit on the day&nbsp;</p>
