<h3>Determined to keep up with news from Cobh each day if possible, I sometimes found it difficult to achieve this during my travels. For the past 48 hours in my current abode in Alaska there was no power due to a freak Summer storm, I had no wifi or internet  access which h need for my laptop. Continued thanks to all who make the effort to email news to liamkelleher44@gamil.com. Much of the news can be garnered from various social media outlets like twitter, instagram, Facebook. A growing number of people are not using Facebook mainly because  of negative comments etc.&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>Xplore local Cobh App will never post anything negative or derogatory. You  do not have to be on any of the mentioned outlets just download the app by typing in Xplore Local and you have a choice of a growing number of towns in Ireland on the system, of course we would prefer if Cobh was  your first choice. The App is totally free and can be downloaded from Apple or Google and there are listings for well over 100 outlets in Cobh and the Great  Island. Our mantra:</h3>

<p>Places running out at our Villarreal CF Summer Camp!</p>
<p>The camp at St Colman’s Park for children aged 6-14 will run from Monday August 22nd to Friday August 26th, featuring UEFA qualified coaches from Villarreal CF and Cobh Ramblers FC personnel.</p>
<p>Similar to last year, two players from the camp will be selected by the Villarreal coaches to go on a once in a lifetime week’s assessment and VIP experience at the Spanish club later this year.</p>

<h3>Tidy towns Wanderers Help out</h3>

<p>A full on hour of fantastic work during our Wednesday 1 hour this evening. Huge thanks to Cobh Wanderers Afc for joining us on the Community Challenge. Brilliant clearance of weeds on Willie Carrs steps, Connolly Street steps and the camber steps &amp; gravel. We really appreciated the help. More sweeping of cigarette butts and litter picking by our volunteers in town. Thanks to the Mauritania for the refreshments.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Cheque presentation tonight to two members of the Breaking the silence committee( Cathy Lowry &amp; Joannie Brierley) from the Russell heights Residents on their recent very successful family funday.Ger Mahony , Brian Mahony &amp; Robert Keenan presented us with a cheque of €1,410 .Once again  we would like to say a massive thank you to all the residents  and a special thanks to Ger Mahony , Brian Mahony, Robert Keenan, Bryan Walsh &amp; Isabel Mahony for working so hard over the past several months to make this a fun and successful  family fun day.</p>
