<h3>Determined to keep up with news from Cobh each day if possible, I sometimes found it difficult to achieve this during my travels. For the past 48 hours in my current abode in Alaska there was no power due to a freak Summer storm, I had no wifi or internet  access which h need for my laptop. Continued thanks to all who make the effort to email news to liamkelleher44@gamil.com. Much of the news can be garnered from various social media outlets like twitter, instagram, Facebook. A growing number of people are not using Facebook mainly because  of negative comments etc.&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>Xplore local Cobh App will never post anything negative or derogatory. You  do not have to be on any of the mentioned outlets just download the app by typing in Xplore Local and you have a choice of a growing number of towns in Ireland on the system, of course we would prefer if Cobh was  your first choice. The App is totally free and can be downloaded from Apple or Google and there are listings for well over 100 outlets in Cobh and the Great  Island. Our mantra:</h3>

<h3>Ballymore-Cobh AC</h3>

<p>Grange Fermoy A.C. Bob Burke 4 Mile Race  Sun 24-Jul-2022</p>
<p>4 of our athletes travelled north to take part in this annual event, hosted by Grange Fermoy A.C.</p>
<p>Siblings, Dáire O'Leary and Aisling O'Leary from our Tigers Juvenile Section, lined up amongst the 43 other athletes in the Juvenile 1 mile race that preceded the main event.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Well accustomed to training at this distance and further again, Dáire and Aisling both started brightly, but controlled, measuring themselves well and showcasing their endurance running traits exquisitely to secure a pair of results high up the field that they can certainly be proud of.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dáire secured 3rd placed male and 7th overall.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Aisling earned herself 5th placed female and 9th overall. Marvellous going from both O'Learys.</p>
<p>Immediately after was the 4 mile race.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our other athletes taking part in this were Caoimhe Carolan from our Tigers Juvenile Section and Margaret O'Regan from our Adults Section.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Two smashing performances resulted in a pair of very impressive results.</p>
<p>Caoimhe secured a 2nd place (27:53) finish in the Junior Female (U20) category (57th overall), bagging herself a prize for her labours.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This follows on from Caoimhe's recent escapades at national level - the Tailteann Schools Interprovincial Championships where she finished in 11th place representing Munster in the 1500m, and in 7th place at the National U/16 3000m Final.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Margaret put in a fine showing too. Returning to racing after a long lay-off, a 5th place (31:35) finish in the Female 40 category (82nd overall) was testament to Margaret's quality as a runner.&nbsp;</p>
<p>We salute you all for a quartet of superb performances and, of course, to the host club, Grange Fermoy A.C., for putting on a flawless event, as they always do.</p>

<p>Under 19 2022-23</p>
<p>It is with no small amount of disappointment that we have to announce that a manager for this team hasn’t been secured.&nbsp;</p>
<p>It is felt appropriate to make this announcement early so all these players are able seek out alternatives to play competitive football  for r the new season. Whether this is  with ourselves in The Cork AUL Premier division or other teams in Cork Youth League or MSL Junior divisions.&nbsp;</p>
<p>To those players whom we got to know well over the past twelve months it was terrific to see you win your u18 division and for some to earn debuts in The AUL with Springfield AFC</p>
<p>As a team in ascendancy Springfield are delighted to have played a small but essential part in developing these young players and they’ll always be welcome at Pat OBrien Park .&nbsp;</p>
