<p>The Cobh Garden of Reflection is a Cobh Tidy Towns initiative in association with Cobh Parish. The enhancements to the area invite us to reflect, rest and remember the Covid 19 pandemic, honours those who have sadly passed away, celebrates the community spirit and hard work of the community and also reminds us of how rich Cobh is with so many places and experiences to enjoy on our Great Island.  Set amongst the beautiful flowers there are many inspirational quotes – there's one from the Bible but you’ll see others from Charlie Mackesy, Kurt Cobain, Martin Luther King Jr., Helen Keller, Robin Williams, Emma Donoghue and others.&nbsp;</p>
<h4>This is a wonderful space in which to enjoy views, to observe nature and all that it provides, to take time out, to reflect on life and its ups and downs and to be comforted, inspired or provoked by our carefully chosen inspirational quotes. Enjoy!</h4>
<h2>ONE ANNUAL COLLECTION</h2>
<p>Cobh Branch will hold their annual street collection over the comming days.</p>
<p>Thursday 25th in Midleton.</p>
<p>Friday 26th in Cobh and Carrigtwohill</p>

<p>The family of the late Marg McCarthy are doing a sponsored climb and some will be climbing Carrauntoohil while others climb Torc mountain on Saturday 24th September, in memory of their Mam and raising funds for Friends of Cobh Hospital.</p>

<h2>Tidy Towns</h2>

<p>On our last Wednesday work evening we were delighted to be joined by O.N.E Cobh branch members who helped paint the red seats and flower posts below the Cathedral. Our volunteers litter picked throughout the town after a busy day in Cobh while stickers on poles at Top of the Hill were removed too. A sincere thanks to all the clubs that joined us in support of our work with the Community Challenge to keep up the high standards in Cobh throughout the summer months for us to enjoy, visitors to admire and adjudicators to impress! Now that we head into back to school season and the evenings are darker we will just continue with our Saturday morning work meeting at 10am in Carrig House Carpark. Fingers crossed for good news in October when National Tidy Towns results are announced! Please support the Cobh O.N.E street collection day on Friday when they will be collecting for veterans in need.</p>

<p>BBQ, Raffle, Marymount Stall also on the day with all proceeds being passed on to Marymount Hospice.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Big day for many Cork junior golfers, who competed for The AST Youth Trophy, one of the most attractive Junior golf competitions on the Cork golf calendar,</p>
<p>with a shotgun start (well, was it a car horn, maybe)!</p>
<p>As in the past, the competition was sponsored by AST Physiotherapy, Cobh, who put up brilliant prizes and subsidised food for all participants – a great thank you to AST! Well, let’s not forget all the volunteers at Cobh Golf Club and the many volunteers, Youth Officers and driving, encouraging, proud or consoling ,parents from participating clubs, indeed!&nbsp;</p>
<p>14 Teams of 4 participated on a glorious, partly sunny day, with boys and girls from eight clubs in the area.</p>
<p>Team East Cork 2, with Sean Crowley, Dan Donovan, Josh Hogan and Aiden O’Connor took the spoils and were the announced winners of the AST Trophy in 2022! Congratulations!</p>
<p>For 9 younger golfers, a ‘Chipping &amp; Putting’ competition was the highlight of the day!</p>
<p>The ‘buzz’ was great – and please, can we all come again in 2023?</p>

<p>Another fantastic evening for Cork City. The Marina Market was the hub for over one thousand runners to congregate &amp; prepare for the 10 mile race. 1054 participants to be precise. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet &amp; chat to all the pre race friendly faces.&nbsp;</p>
