<h3>Tidy Towns</h3>

<p>After weeks of waiting for the grass to grow sufficiently, we are delighted to announce that the gate to the green area opposite St Colman’s Cathedral is once again open.</p>
<p>In a short ceremony this evening, Bishop Crean unveiled a sign to the Cobh Garden of Reflection and the assembled guests followed him through the gate as the bells of St Colman’s Cathedral rang out courtesy of carilloneur Adrian Gebruers. Bishop Crean then gave a spontaneous rendition of Santa Lucia in the Garden of Reflection.</p>
<p>The Cobh Garden of Reflection is a Cobh Tidy Towns initiative in association with Cobh Parish.  The enhancements to the area invite us to reflect, rest and remember the Covid 19 pandemic.</p>
<p>The garden honours those who have sadly passed away, celebrates the community spirit and hard work of the community and also reminds us of how rich Cobh is with so many places and experiences to enjoy on our Great Island.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>&nbsp;Lovely Feedback</h3>
<p>Last week we received some lovely feedback from a group who visited Cobh and our Cathedral.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here is some of the feedback from Liam-“We then went to the Cathedral to finish off the day and to say it was a visit that we will never forget would be an understatement.</p>
<p>Michael agreed to give us a guided tour. His knowledge of the Cathedral was top class and we got. A fantastic history of the building. All the men in the group were totally engrossed in the history of the building m and they hung on every word that Michael was saying. I grew up in Cobh and I felt so proud.&nbsp;</p>
<p>To be a Cobh man listening to what was been said and to see friends of mine so interested in what Michael was saying. I would like to complement all that are involved in promoting the history of the Cathedral and the town of Cobh, (my home town).”</p>

<h3>Jailbreak Triathlon</h3>

<p>Jailbreak Cobh's Triathlon is starting at 11.20 with the swim from Spike Island today. Good luck to all participating in this event!</p>
<p>There will be a great buzz around Cobh today.</p>
<h3>GolfCongrats to our Cóbh Golf Club Ladies team Ann , Mags and Rose who did the club very proud indeed .</h3>
<p>Competing in the Eleanor Tivy Cup in Mallow Golf Club , up against 42 teams from all over Munster came a very credible and very close second .</p>
<p>Well done ladies great performance.</p>

<p>Great games yesterday evening in Cobh v St.Colmcille’s. Lads played well. Very tough game in football and a win in the hurling so good all round👍</p>

<p>Great Minor hurling win for Cobh over Nemo. Needing to win by 2 points to progress things looked bad with time almost up,  but Timmy Wilk saved the day,  chased by 6  Nemo,  players he out ran them and struck an  unstoppable ball to the net to fashion the much desired and needed the result. See the picture on his  brilliant run.</p>
