<p>What an amazing opening night and the crowds were absolutely fantastic. Well done to the Cobh Theatre Group they were just brilliant thanks to Avril and the girls for all their hard work.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Carnival atmosphere</h3>

<p>The carnival atmosphere continues in the town this weekend with the Cobh Peoples Regatta in full swing. Huge thanks to talented photographer Bob Bateman for supporting the club's Oppie competition and the hotly contested Titanic Trophy Race yesterday. Congratulations to Royal Cork Yacht Club's Luas on 1st place, 2nd place Big Mac and to Cove SC's Brightwings, who came third.</p>
<p>On the fun side of things crew member of Angela, Katelyn Mullan swapped her sailing skills for sewing skills and made her own dress for the Regatta Queen Competition.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Todays sailing events kicked off Saturday afternoon for the Mixed Dinghies Race and the Rankin Brothers Cup.</p>

<h3>Scouts and Ventures</h3>

<p>Great bivvy with Scouts and Ventures out at Foxes Cover last night. There was no wind initially but we picked up a nice breeze further out and enjoyed some lovely sailing. Once we arrived at Foxes Cover we had a swim and then pitched tents, followed by a campfire and supper. There wasn’t a lot of sleep but there were definitely a lot of laughs! A good night was had by all.</p>

<p>In this heat just a 1 hour litter pick &amp; sweep around town for our volunteers after a busy opening Regatta night in Cobh. Big thanks to the outdoor Cork County Council council staff out early emptying bins and cleaning streets. Cobh is ready for a great day on and off the water. We ended our morning at Catherine Moynihan’s coffee morning at 5 Rushbrooke Terrace for autism in her beautiful garden. Open until 5pm today</p>

<p>Hi Guys</p>
<p>I am doing a cycle from Bishopstown GAA to Castlegregory Co Kerry in aid of the Mick Cronin Fund&nbsp;</p>
<p>Mick is a neighbor of mine in our Mobile park, and his daughter and son are friendly with my twins.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Mick had a serious work accident last December and is left paralyzed from the neck down, so we are now trying to help raise funds for Mick and  his family. Mick is a Gaa fanatic and unbelievable family man whose life has been turned upside down by this accident, so if you can please support this worthy cause.</p>
