<p>We are delighted to announce Toddy Stafford as our new Vice President.</p>
<p>Toddy was elected to the position at a recent Council meeting and welcomed by President Johanna Murphy, Council Executives, and the extended Council members.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Johanna will continue for a second term as President along with re-elected Treasurer John Sweeney, Honorary Secretary Cormac MacCoitir and Michael McCormack as Immediate Past President.</p>
<p>Toddy is a native of Cobh and runs a successful local company Stafford Electrical, he is also Chairperson of Friends of Cobh Hospital, and he is wished every success in his role.</p>
<p>Cobh and Harbour Chamber, will continue to lobby key areas affecting both Cobh and the lower harbour, advancing business together.</p>

<p>For primary schools Scaith na Scoil games  for hurling camogie and football has been an integral part of their school life for many years and for more than 2 years since the arrival of Covid the absence of these  prestigious games has had a huge impact on the sporting outlets for all schools. Its wonderful to see the games back and today Thursday at Pairc Ui Conaill twin Cobh schools had comprehensive wins. The Gael Scoil which included 5 girls on their hurling panel were much too strong for a school from the Glen in Cork. The presence of all the pupils from the school to cheer on their friends added to atmosphere. Now there will be  huge excitement and indeed expectations in the school  looking forward to the finals before the Summer holidays.</p>
<h3><strong>Camogie win for girls</strong></h3>

<p>Bun Scoil Rushbrooke  girls won their game also in Cobh,  to  reach their  Semi-Finals of the camogie after a game which gave every member of the panel an opportunity to claim a starting place in the semi-final next week. Another city team from Togher were the losers in this tie and like Rusbrooke they had a number of exciting and skilful players on show. While the two Cobh schools wrested the laurels today, the huge positivities was the fact that the games are back on track again. Speaking on behalf of the Sciath na Scoil competitions this for me was a huge  positive,  having been involved in coaching many teams including Cobh in the various parishes I have ministered in down through the year. Now that I have retired from parish ministry I have more time  to get involved in coaching and equally to lending support to all the schools in giving publicity to all involved, players, teachers and everyone involved, its another step on the road to returning to normality,  albeit a new normality,  which hopefully be here to stay.</p>

<p>From a personal point off view I was delighted to have been invited to the schools trials for the Cork Primary schools athletics which will be held on the 3rd of June, again it was another huge uplift after missing involvement in school life for over two and a half years.</p>

<p>InBun Scoil  where there are facilities to do indoor high jump I resumed training on Wednesday in preparation for the Cork Co Championships on Sunday next.</p>

<p>Some camp preparation at the cub meeting last night with washing and checking pots and utensils. Lots more to do in the coming weeks to be ready for camp in June!</p>

<p>Well done to the U15 Hurling squad who had an impressive away win against Mayfield.</p>
<p>They put in a massive effort and after a hard fought entertaining game our boys came away with a well deserved 1-16 to 1-7 win&nbsp;</p>

<p>We were delighted to welcome The Ole Bull Chamber Choir from Bergen, Norway to Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh Thursday  morning.</p>
<p>They provided us with a wonderfully entertaining and interactive performance in which all children were enthralled by!</p>
<p>The Ole Bull Chamber Choir will be performing at various locations throughout Cobh and Cork to celebrate the 67th Cork International Choral festival. You can find more information at corkchoral.ie</p>

<p>in girls boxing if you get two eight counts to referee automatically calls the fight for safety then 10 seconds into the 3rd round I gave her a second eight count and won the fight I then got to fight in the All Ireland Semi-Final the National Stadium in Dublin”.&nbsp;</p>
