<p>On  Sunday It was my privilege to  spend over 6 hours at Commodore on ringside  taking pictures of Cove boxing clubs Ist tournament. Only my 3rd time ever watching boxing live. The 2 previous occasions Barcelona Olympics  1992 watching Michael Carruth's gold and London 2012 for Katie's gold. Both  from front  front row seats. From 11am it was non stop action viewed from ringside,  until the curtain came down on a marvelous days sport at 5.30pm, without winners being declared and the adults thereafter from 2-5.30pm.  The club had nothing to do with the  appointing of the panel of judges, they were appointed by the Co board.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>The fledgling club founded shortly before Covid hit,  deserve huge congratulations for the numbers  involved at competitive level and indeed equally important the huge number of coaches and parents.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Without having a home to call  their own,   they operate from  a shed out at Belvelly on  the Ahern farmstead. The powers that be,  must be informed about the exploits of Cove boxing club and a state of the art premises must be provided in the town as a matter of urgency. It's impossible to put a real value on the worth on  the work the club is doing for the youth of Cobh and the Great island. The  100 plus pictures I captured and videos give  an indication of the joy the day brought to so many. Speaking to one of the judges  near the end,  who refereed   many of Katie Taylor's bouts as an amateur, he was amazed at the quality of every aspect of the day. I posted my morning pictures on social media as the morning session concluded. It's now 10.30pm and I have failed at 2 different venues after my delayed dinner to post,  but the WiFi is so poor this evening that I did not succeed. With 250 pictures to post from the Irish schools athletic championships from Tullamore yesterday and we'll over 100 from today, it's so disappointing not being able to do so. Hopefully I will be able to do so later. I am posting this on Xplore  Local Cobh App with just a few pictures. My thanks to the club for inviting me to cover their mammoth event.</p>

<p>We had a lovely visit from Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski and Fr Andrii Malysh of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Holy Family of London this weekend pictured with Fr Tom McDermott ADM.</p>

<p>Over 30 boys form the @springfieldramblers 2013 group braved today’s poor weather to travel to @douglashallafc1971 for some great games.</p>
<p>These boys have been sensational this year and never go missing.</p>
<p>They now take a well deserved break.</p>
<p>Thanks to all the coaches who have really helped out this year and to all the parents for being taxi 🚕 for all the games.&nbsp;</p>
