<h3>Extra date added!  Due to demand we are running a second night of this historic tour.  On November 10th 1921, several prisoners from the Spike Island Military Prison in the field carried out a daring escape.  They had secretly cleared a tunnel area at the back of their accommodation, and under cover of darkness effected a prison break past searchlights, razor wire and armed guards.&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
<h3>This November 11th we will do a special tour that talks about and follows the route of the escape, and tells the story of the 1921 Republican prison, which saw 1200 prisoners, hunger strikes and further escapes.  Departing Cobh at 7pm and returning at 9.45pm, your tour is fully guided, and will include access to behind the scenes areas like the sallyport tunnel, where a 200 year old stone spiral staircase was recently found.  As well as time with your guide, you will also hear from author Tom O'Neill, writer of the insightful book, 'Spike Island's 1921 prisoners', who can give insightful info on this amazing event.&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
