Formally Admiralty House, with its striking Italianate design comprising of a two-tiered cast iron verandah overlooking the sea. It was built in the 1880’s and headquarters to Admiral Sir Lewis Bayly Commander-in-Chief for the Coast of Ireland. In 1917 it served as the location for the United States head of naval operations in Ireland during WW1. Presently, home to the Benedictine nuns, St. Benedict’s Priory, Bible Garden and Tea Rooms provide a secluded place to meditate, reflect and take some time out in the peace and serenity of the garden
