Belvelly Castle is a typical medieval square tower dating from the fifteenth century, located in magnificent natural scenery. It stands on a very narrow piece of land, bounded by Belvelly bridge road on one side and the shore on the other. Described as in ruins since the middle of the nineteenth century, it has recently been purchased and restored. It stands proud now as a modern dwelling while still paying respect to the historical structure. New Great Island Flag designed by Keith Keown flies on high on the castle. Also on top of the castle is a Golden Tree with a sculpture by Orla De Bri 'Quiet Listening'.
