The Pike Deli

With a shiny new front window stacked with oven-fresh sourdough loaves, Pike Deli on Connolly Street specialises in crusty bread, good coffee, deli-style sandwiches, and top-notched baked goodies. Opening day sambos included a soft fennel, salami, mustard, cress, roast garlic, and mayo combination as well as veggie celeriac shawarma with dukkah, pickled chilli, tahini, slaw and fermented carrot. The salad selection is particularly good too, with heaving bowls of cannelini beans, roast squash, kale, and red onion vinaigrette and a delicious spigarello with anchovy dressing, barley and pecorino. Lunch safely in the bag, don’t leave without a crisp, syrupy maple bun – probably the most fun you can have for €3.50. Pike Deli is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30am to 3.30pm.
