Scannells Bar is a longstanding establishment in Clonakilty. It was something of lore in the 80s and 90s. Mrs. Scannell opened only for maintenance hours to keep the licence—many locals hadn’t ever been in. When the time came for the Scannell family to pass the baton, the current owners, Kevin and Shane, were ready to take it. Both from Clonakilty, they met in national school and grew up to be business partners. Now with families of their own, they juggle a bustling bar, a food business, and are a part of a town renowned for festivals and fun.

Shanley's Bar
Shanley’s Bar, situated in the heart of the picturesque town Clonakilty, has been in the Shanley Family since 1904.

The hot buffet full Irish breakfast is also provided and selects the best in locally sourced produce, including the famous Clonakilty black and white pudding, grilled bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, potato cubes, baked bean, fried and scrambled eggs. Enjoy all of this with a freshly brewed coffee or speciality tea, ready, steady, start!

The perfect solution, whether you would like something substantial or a lighter option such as our freshly made sandwich selection, house salads and piping hot soup. At lunchtime, we also serve a children’s menu and it is packed with traditional favourites and healthy options to ensure great variety for the pickiest of eaters! Lunch is served from Monday - Saturday, 12.30pm – 4.00pm.
Sunday Carvery Lunch
Served every Sunday the Carvery Lunch features a range of traditional favourites such as piping hot soups, sumptuous roasts and mouth-watering desserts. It is the perfect location for a family celebration, or simply to enjoy a hard earned day off from cooking. Sunday lunch is available from 12.30pm – 3.30pm
DINNER
The bistro dinner menu is a culinary delight, combining produce from local markets and artisan providers with the expert and creative knowledge of our chefs. Signature dishes include the Hereford Prime 10oz Sirloin Steak, the Lemon & Pistachio Crusted Seabass and the Twist Spicy Chicken Wings. A Children's Menu is also available and it is packed with traditional favourites and healthy options to ensure great variety for the pickiest of eaters! The dinner menu is served from 5.30pm – 9.30pm.

We try our hardest to keep the bands fresh and rotate them throughout the year to give our customers plenty of variety. We also provide our local musicians with the opportunity to play on our stage at the weekend. This allows them to gain confidence and gives them a chance to display their talent to our customers.
We have also just upgraded our 6 screens with surround-sound to facilitate the demand for different sporting events. From GAA championship, Premier League, Champions League to the Ryder Cup we have it all at Casey's.
Stone Valley Coffee Roasters
Musicians John and Tom decided in 2017 that on top of their night job as the saviours of rock and roll they they should start their own coffee business. They began roasting in a 19th century stone shed in a valley (hence the name) and never looked back. They feature some of the best coffee around, freshly roasted in Clonakilty in the heart of West Cork. Always speciality grade and always roasted to perfection. Tom is the roaster and John is the guy that pretends he can identify all the tasting notes Come swing by the coffee shop if you want to say hi and talk all things music and coffee…..except decaf. We won’t talk about that.
Dunmore House Hotel

DeBarras Folk Club
For almost 40 years DeBarra’s Folk Club in the beautiful seaside town of Clonakilty has been a home for music, earning a reputation that has travelled far beyond the confines of its West Cork home.
Long-standing associations with Noel Redding (The Jimi Hendrix Experience) Paddy Keenan (The Bothy Band), Sharon Shannon and folk artists Christy Moore and Roy Harper have served as the cornerstones of this little venue’s worldwide renown as one of the finest music houses in Ireland.
Musicians from all genres and generations have fed into the Folk Club’s magical history, with every performance weaving themselves into the brickwork of its worn, familiar walls.

On August 4th, 2020, the Whale’s Tail Restaurant was awarded 2020 Traveller’s Choice by Tripadvisor, ranking us in the top 10 per cent of restaurants worldwide.

Shannon Vale Foods
Shannon Vale Foods was started by the O'Regan family when they moved to Clonakilty in 1885. The original founder was Timothy O'Regan who operated as a poultry trader from 1910. In 1945 his son James P O'Regan took over the family business as a small market trader attending country fairs and buying supplies of eggs and chickens for the trading business in Clonakilty.
Various expansions have taken place over the years with the most significant being the move to the current location in 1972 just outside the town at Gullane, Clonakilty where the business has grown and developed every year since. An expansion in 1990 doubled the size of the production facility to enable the development of added value poultry production.
In 1999 the facility was destroyed by fire. However within eighteen months the entire facility was rebuilt with the new state of the art facility opened by the late James O'Regan in March 2000.
Currently 120,000 birds per week are processed with the vast majority of poultry processed as added value products including marinated, breaded, boned/stuffed and cooked products for supply to the major multiples in Ireland.
The company has its own development chef and product development technologist to enable the constant development of new added value products and employs a close partnership approach with its customers ensuring new product concepts and requests can be developed without delay.
Shannon Vale is a fully approved EC facility and operates under the Department of Agriculture and Food. It holds licences for the following areas: Slaughter, Cutting, Preparation and Cooking. While the processing of commercial broilers constitutes the major share of the business, the company also processes free range, organic and Halal poultry so that such niche areas are catered for.
The company is fully HACCP compliant and a BRC approved facility.
The Gulfstream Restaurant at Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa
Panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Irish coast, offer a stunning backdrop for your dining experience. Head Chef Adam Medcalf and his brigade have created a wonderful menu offering the best of fresh sea food and local steaks. The food concept is based on using ingredients from the county of Cork and showcasing the bset of our local suppliers and artisan producers. The Food Truck at The Clonakilty Park Hotel
The Food Truck is located next to the Clonakilty Park Cinema on the grounds of the Clonakilty Park Hotel. Have a quick bite or grab and go but still experience the finest in local produce, quality and value.
The specialty pizzas are not to be missed, but there is also a selection of lighter options such as our bruschetta, brioches & baps. If you are looking for a sweet treat with a great coffee or tea, then this is the spot for you.
Excluding July & August, a full Takeaway Evening menu is available from Twist Bistro from 5pm – 9pm. It includes the classics such as Fish & Chips, Burgers and Curry to our signature dishes like the Seafood Pie and Bangers & Mash.
The takeaway Sunday Roast option is a favourite locally. It feeds 4 – 6 people and includes roast of the day with vegetables, potato 3 ways and all the trimmings. It also includes a complimentary apple pie.
