This fine stone building across from the Methodist Church was once the mill of Thomas Hill and Co. Ltd. Restored from ruins, it houses a Cork County regional library. It also contains a meeting chamber for the elected members of West Cork Municipal District. This restored building received the 'Europa Nostra' Award in 1987. Many of the town's awards can be viewed in the entrance foyer.
