Castlerea Outdoor Swimming Pool is a heated, 33 meter long pool open to the public every summer. Castlerea Outdoor Swimming Pool is a fantastic amenity managed and operated by Roscommon County Council which aims to provide a healthy, fun, and safe swimming pool that promotes health, fitness, and enjoyment for local people and as a tourist attraction. The outdoor pool offers summertime fun and relaxation for everyone, while qualified supervision and friendly staff ensure a safe, relaxed recreational experience for all. The heated swimming pool is 33 meters long and has both shallow and deep ends ranging from 3ft to 8.5ft and alongside it a smaller heated pool for toddlers. The facility is completely enclosed making it safe for children. Changing rooms are well maintained, with individual changing cubicles, individual and communal showers, secure lockers and toilets. Car parking is also available onsite. A tiered viewing area provides seating for spectators, parents and guardians. There is also a green area which is the perfect location to take a break from swimming, relax or to have a picnic on a hot summer’s day. Supervision: The presence of qualified lifeguards at all times provides peace of mind and ensures the safety and welfare of pool users of all ages and abilities. However, children under 8 must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times. When you come into the town continue straight along Patrick Street, at the T junction turn right onto Barrack Street. Opposite the school take a left turn signposted for the pool. The pool is located further up this road on the right.
