An Tigín is a beautiful and quaint cottage which dates back to the 1800's that has been restored with love and care by a descendant, John Joe. It allows you to step back in time, while providing many of the comforts of modern living. It is situated adjacent to the owner's home on a farm that runs onto the historic Lake O' Flynn, famous for its trout fishing and may fly hatch. A new Playground and Boat Jetty allow easy access to the water and some fun on the slides depending on your preference! The Space Subtly restored using materials and methods of the age and with a wealth of historical artefacts at every turn visitors will get a glimpse into times gone by. The cottage however offers many modern day conveniences with comfortable beds, full kitchen facilities, shower and a solid fuel stove. Please note the property does not have a washing machine. Public washing machines are available at the local convenience store (1.4km away). Guest Access There is a separate entrance to the courtyard for guests with safe and secure parking and complete privacy (apart from maybe a visit from one of the farmyard donkeys). Other things to note Legend has it Cam O’Sullivan Beare passed by the Cottage on his march in the aftermath of the Siege of Dunboy 1602 following the route of the River Suck. Today’s vistors can enjoy miles of bog walk paths starting from the source of the river suck and meandering through peaceful bog lands.
