We reckon an outdoors summer wouldn't be complete without a visit to an open farm or nature sanctuary. It's the kind of outing that's sure to keep both adults and kids intrigued when you've grown tired of trips to picnic benches at local parks! Here are our recommendations for some nature-based entertainment in Kerry, Cork and Galway.

<a href="https://xploreapp.io/tralee/attraction/sandy-feet-farm-cyqvg" target="_self">Sandy Feet Farm</a> is a family-run open farm near the village of Camp (which is about a 20-minute drive from Tralee town centre). Get up close and personal with a range of familiar (and not-so-familiar) farm animals such as alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs and even a very charming Highland cow!
Treat yourself to a tractor-trailer ride around the farm or to something homemade and sweet in their spacious cafe. They've even got a sensory garden and natural play area for kids to enjoy while you take in the beauty of the natural surroundings.

The Burren is such a beautiful place, and this nature sanctuary does a great job of bringing the magic of the area to life. With highlights such as a Lunar shattered limestone pavement, Wild Orchid meadow, Magical Hazel Fairy woodland, 3-acre Disappearing Lake that fills every 12 hours, a Burren Botany Bubble that houses The National Collection of Burren Flora and an ancient settlement and round field, it's really a nature spot like no other!
Unfortunately, most of the sanctuary won't be reopening in 2021 due to a difficult year of closures. It's also worth taking a visit to the Burren National Park, which is less than a half-hour drive from the Sanctuary and is currently open with free admission.

Cork, with plenty of room for exploring the various attractions they have on offer, including a petting zoo, an adventure playground, indoor play barn, go-karting, a farm museum, and a chocolate factory where they craft their own homemade ice-cream!&nbsp;
There really is something for everyone here at this fun-filled gem. Unique attractions like their digger park offer digger-mad kids a chance to work a real mini JCB. Adults and kids can also take a spin on the quads and barrel trailer rides available in this area too.&nbsp;

Take a peaceful walk in Glenabo Woods, a Coillte-managed forest located on the outskirts of Fermoy town. Its looped trail follows a tributary of the magnificent Blackwater River, and you can even find a small but pretty waterfall on this relatively short route. Parking is available on site and directions to the park (as well as a turn-by-turn trail guide) can be found in the Hikes &amp; Trails section of the Xplore Fermoy app.&nbsp;
Worked up an appetite? The nearby town of Fermoy offers plenty of great lunch and coffee options, as well as many unique outlets and boutiques if you fancy a bit of window shopping.&nbsp;
